where can i get a pepper spray? will i be caught if i travel with it ?

i cant buy it online because im leaving on friday. i live in richmond va

I would say traveling with pepper spray is not allowed. I am not even sure it is allowed in the airport, but maybe you could put in your checked luggage? Call the airport and ask, and go to the airport web site, and FAA web site.
One other idea is to mail it ahead and/or back. I had to do that with a swiss army knife.
