I love Modest Mouse loads and loads...but the lead singer is supposed to be a bit of a d**k. He cuts himself on stage and stuff..

if you like Modest Mouse, please check out the covers Sun Kil Moon did, they are acoustic versions, and they are beautiful, the album is called 'tiny cities', i urge you to check it out! xx

Yeah indeed you do....

My most recent live music event was one of the best... The Cure came to Brisbane, and the tickets were so expensive... and the crowds were huge, but me being a dedicated little concert goer waited in line for like 5 hours... We got front row mosh pit spots, just off center.... They are so old now but god they played an amazing set! (They must have taken something good eh?) They played for a whole 3 hours with no breaks, and they sounded phenomenal! They all totally got into it as well, and were not stuck up at all! They totally rocked my world!

The other concert that comes to mind was Splendor In The Grass (a music festival) in 2006.... I Saw TV On The Radio, and they are really a band you must see live to appreciate them... The lead singer was completely outrageous, and he just gave it his absolute all, mind, heart, body, soul, everything he had into this one performance..... It was almost Gospel, without the religion! I literally could not get the smile off my face after that.... It was truly a night to remember!

Thanks for the question! I love remembering all of the concerts I've been too! :)

*Cries* I know! :( It would truly be a sin if they did not! I wish they would come to Australia and play too! I would be waiting there for three days to be in the front row if i had too! Although they are not that popular, so i probably wouldent have to wait very long!

If you like Wolf Parade do you like Modest Mouse also? They are my all time favorite band, but the most disapointing live ever... I was very very disapointed and it sadens me to speak of it.... They sounded great and everything, but whats his name... the lead guy (i am having a mental blank day here) He was just not that into it... He just did not want to be there, he did not care about the people who loved his music... I was a little crushed and heart broken to be honest :( Oh and also, I was so excited to see them that I forgot to eat all day and passed out in the front row half way though the show... lol!

Oh ok cool... anything else you recomend for someone with my tastes? I am always on the look out for new music.... Gross, he cuts himself on stage? What a tool.... I wish someone had told me that before I went, at least I would have known he was a tool before I went there ready to worship him.... Who knows, If he had cut himself on stage I may have passed out even earler than I had!

Great question; some of the so called "bands" of recent years are actually extremely mediocre & my advice would be "keep away".
But bands that did really excite live: Springsteen & E Street,
The Who in their early days & The Cream. Curiously enough The Faces were good live. Mercury & Queen obviously.
But I've seen lesser known bands of immense quality too; recently Axis in Paphos whilst on holiday & The Flaming Sambuka Bros. Also a band in Dublin called The One Eyed Rattlers & Irish band Stoneloader too.
Too many people get drawn to the big "hyped up" names & never see some of the real class.

I would say
Spiritualized - on the 'Ladies & Gentlemen Tour'. Remember someone saying how intense it was (also very good on the Accoustic Mainline concerts this year)
Arcade Fire - twice this year. Just the best combination of music and performance I've ever seen
The Flaming Lips - last year - the most fun you can have at a rock concert

Mogwai were good live, but prefer them on record. The Editors is the other way round for me

Godsmack and Rush have been the best in my book but I have been to 40+ concerts in my life. The first I went to was "The Black & Blue Tour) Black Sabbath & Blue Oyster Cult. ZZTop puts on a great show for 3 man band as I mentioned before "RUSH". Also AC/DC concerts are such a electrical energized event, they would be in my top 20.Godsmack to me was the BEST as sounding EXACTLY the way the music sounded on the CD plus it's was a stormy night with Judas Priest opening up, lot's of lightning and thunder! Was a amazing experience!!!

Happy Apple in a tiny wooden theatre at the Edigburgh Jazz and Blues Festival 2007. It was the first time I'd heard their music and they were fantastic. Also, Foals at Beached 2007 in Scarborough.

Editors are indeed immense live. They have such energy and the songs are so much better! The Killers at Glasto was awesome, having so many people going that crazy for 'All These Things That I've Done.'

I also have to admit that Iron Maiden are very good live.
