So my nationality is American and what if one day I move to Canada and have kids there. Would my kids be considered part American at all? I mean American isn't a race or really a ethnicity, its mainly a nationality since its diverse. If not then can the kids say that their father was an American? What do you think?

Thank you for reading.

If your kids are born in Canada then are Canadian. I know a guy who's wife was from Canada and went back there to visit her sick mom while she was in the last stages of her pregnancy and had the baby while she was there. It was really hard for them to get the baby back to the states because the baby was not an American citizen even though both of his parents were. They had to go through the whole citizenship thing and they finally brought him home when he was eight month. They were told that the laws were changed after 9 11.

Yes, they can be Canadian and American.
Canadian by birth, because they would automatically get citizenship by being born in Canada.
And American by blood, because both parents are American.
