I take the lining from cat and dog food bags and wash them. I use my bathtub water to water my plants, I have one bag of trash every 3 weeks.

Our garbage is all taken to a central recycling facility.
They sort out almost all the recyclables, but they can't seperate glass out, so I take the jars and bottles to the recycling bins.
It's so much fun throwing the glass. LOL
Our schools have been recycling paper so we have been saving all the newspapers, junk mail, etc. and take it to their bins.

Yes, any paper materials in my classroom. And I take my cans, bottles down to a neighborhood center for cash refunds.
