My first memory of Christmas would be in about 1948
having a coal fire in the bedroom and a stocking with an
orange in it. I remember paints and a painting book and thought I was in heaven.

As a child, one very cold, dark, and snowy Christmas Eve at our rural farmhouse in Indiana, we were watching TV and all of a sudden there was a great commotion on the house roof. There was a the loud sound of bells and stomping on the roof. My parents and us kids were stirred to look out the windows for Santa, but we saw nothing.
About an hour later, my grand-parents arrived to exchange presents and what a story we had for them. That year, I got an authentic "Davey Crockett" ****-skin hat, with the "tail" still attached.
For years into adulthood, I remembered this event without an explanation, until one day I noticed in my grandfather's garage a set of large sleigh bells on leather straps.

It was years ago, four of us Sisters was doing the last of the Christmas shopping, it was Christmas Eve, and we had to get a ton of stuff as we were spending Christmas at my Mothers home, each of us with our own little families, it took us most part of the day to get it all, we were very tired but happy and laughing as we went about it, we came out of the last shop, it was dusk by this time and............it was Snowing!!...it was magical...we all looked at each other and shed a tear....also the Salvation Army was singing carols in the street....and the days that followed was just as magical that year....A Wonderful Christmas!!........... thank you so much for this question!!! Iv'e been thinking of lots of other ones too xx
