Yes... I won't go into the details, but my revelation gave him power. I believe that I will no longer show my weaknesses to just anyone. It's just too easy for them to twist your words around and use them against you. Gotta be smarter next time.

Oh yes, many times. I usually try to laugh it off and pretend whatever I revealed was a joke. (It usually doesn't work) I deal by just forgetting about it. I've learned my lesson with my secrets. And I'm at the age now where I really don't give a care WHAT people think of me.

Yes, I am sorry to say that I lost a very good friendship because I revealed something to her husband that I thought he should know. I appologized to her and those involved. I admitted that I was in the wrong. We are still friends, but not good friends anymore.
I have also done this with my sister. We are good friends and she forgave me.
I try never to reveal something that might hurt someone unless it is absolutely necessary.

Yea,
when I told my family that my eldest son was conceived through a rape. they had thought I was just "easy" at the age of 13, but in fact I was still a virgin. I was 25 when I told them the truth and to this day I still regret it. I guess their guilt of thinking wrong of me and not being there for me got the best of them and they treated me like a leper.
oh well, I got the best of the worst...a wonderful, beautiful son who is almost 29 years old and doing great :-)

I learned if I opened my mouth in the first place, I had better not say something I might want to take back! I realize what's done is done! No regrets either way!

Yes I told the person who was supposed to be my best friend about being attacked at gun point. She was the only person besides my husband that I felt that I could talk to about it. I asked her to please keep it to herself. But she told a bunch of people we work with about it. And I kept having people come up to me and telling me how sorry they were and if I wanted to talk they would listen (As kind as every one was) I told her off about how she hurt me and that I would never tell her another thing. It has been 3 years and we are still not and never will be as close as we were before, because I do not feel that I can trust her.
I guess we live and learn.
Take care!
Kali :-)

Don't regret. Just reveal something else about another person and maybe they will forget about it.

YES!
i felt stumped! i couldnt believe it. i lost confidence & it took me away from faith in friends.
i had to deal cause it was a friend of the family. it cost me later, cause she blabbed everything though.
we lost contact for yrs & then she shows up w/my daughter. I was nice & i spoke a word about it. it was a hush-hush situation & i couldnt say much. she & i agreed it s in the past. but we dont have any relationship now at all! she's friends w/the others but not me.
if it was family, i have to deal w/it too, to keep the family peace. know how that feels too!
