I was spanked as a child too, and in retrospect.... I TOTALLY deserved EVERY ONE of'em! =)

I had onlt a few spankings as a child, and I deserved them for back talking my Dad.......
I was not much of a spanker with my 2 kids either, unless it was to pop their bottom when they got into something that could hurt them!
Now, when they became teen-ager, and had the smart mouths, ther were a few times I wanted to hurt them, BAD, but the worse they ever got was maybe a slap from me for being disrespectful....

spanking is a form of just punishment for kids that have done something inappropriate or unacceptable. I've been spanked and deserved the. without a spanking kids would continue to do what they did. now by a spanking, I'm not talking about really beating up a child, because that is not acceptable.

Keeping in mind that spanking is not the same as Beating where kids end up with bruises, broken bones and mental problems; I have noticed that those who are spanked every now and then behave a lot better then the brats whose parents think they should "reason" with them. I was not spanked as a child, because I was just naturally good and My parents let Me watch R rated movies :)

Yes I was spanked and learned the lesson I was taught. I say spank away... I think children get away with to much these days and deserve a smack on the *** every once in a while. I don't regret not one spanking I got cause I deserved them all.

i was smacked as a child too!! and it did no harm to me!! If a shild does something wrong and they get smacked they know straight away thet what they did was wrong, and dont do it again or they will get smacked. Wheras if a child did something wrong and they get sent to their room or put on a naughty step, they are gona think so what i have to sit here for a few minutes big deal!! I just think right and wrong gets taught quicker with a smack! However i do understand that some parents do take smaking too far and they are really hurting the child, this is not the kind of smacking i am talking about!! That harsh kind of smacking IS wrong, and those parents probably shouldnt have kids!!

I don't like that. I am lucky for not being spanked in my childhood and I have made it a point not to do that with my children. I have two kids - a four year and a 13 month - both of them cute boys. They only deserve love and care

Spanking is a parent's individual choice. It should be done in private (not in front of other as that would be humiliating to the child), not in the heat of anger. It can be used as a form of discipline. I do not use it on my children. I think, as long as parents spank (different from hitting) their children as a form of discipline, not as a way of relieving their own frustrations, it is an individual parental choice.

I was spanked as a child, hated my parents at the time, but realized later I probably deserved it.
I do not see spanking as mistreatment, or beating the kid. Is is a form of punishmet that is usually effective. At least it was on me, but it should only be used as a last resort.

SEXY I was spanked too as a child, there must have been a reason for it, but I can't say! I never planked my children, they have been great kids! When they grew up then they were too big to spank! You take care! Jimmy.

The only times I spanked my two youngest if if they really,really,really went overboard. They never get spanked without knowing the reason why.Even if they already know why,I still would tell them.
They hates to have their privileges taking away so that's what I mostly do.(95% of the times,they feel the effects....lol).
