Yeah I think it's the same mentality how people hate the Yankees and Duke in basketball in recent history. When teams have a history of winning year after year supporters of other teams grow tired of all the attention / press they get. It further compounds the frustrations with their own teams losing

Dude, I am from New England and until this year I never hated the Pats. I thought they were a great team that played the type of blue collar ball I love but they are winning without class this year. The defense in particular is just getting rediculous. The Patriots aren't celebrating anymore they are mocking their opponents, sure not after the game when they have the press in their face but during the game. They have been taunting opponents such as standing over them and mocking them and then Harrison the most sportsmanlike player in the league (he said psarchastically) running over to Billick and talking trash to him. That is deplorable and not what the game is about. Look at the Steelers, that is my team and the Pats used to be such a similar team with the smash mouth style and keeping their mouths shut but not anymore. The Patriots are a great team and I wonder what is going to be bigger the hatred created this year of the Patriots or their legacy for being a great team. Karma is coming into town on Sunday and it's wearing black and gold.

I've never liked the Pats. Never. I didn't like them before their 1st SB victory, and I didn't like them after. It grew to hate when the Pats got built up as this "dynasty". LOL. A team that during championship years had a very SMALL margin of victory throughout the entire year. Including the SB where they needed to rely on their kicker EVERY TIME. And now their coach is PROVEN to be a cheater! I hate the Pats because some morons (most media and all Pats fans) think that the Pats are a dynasty. Thats a joke putting this team in that category. Put this Pats team against 70's Steelers, 80 49ers, 90's Cowboys, AND even a non dynasty team in the championship Broncos' squad and the Pats get their a$$e$ stomped bad by all of these teams. If the Pats are a dynasty, they are by far the weakest one. Basically I hate the Pats because they barely win games, eek by championships, have a cheating coaching staff, yet they are some all time great team. What a joke! Also I couldnt agree more with an early post. Along the same lines as comparing the Pats to all time great teams, comparing Brady to Montana is like comparing a Ford Mustang to a Dodge Viper. Yeah Brady is good, but he is no Montana

What's with music and this imaginary cool-o-meter? Who created it? Where are they so I can slap them silly? Music isn't about how cool someone else deems it. Music is awesome and something that should be appreciated according to personal taste. The Beatles were revolutionaries...ACTUALLY. They were one of the first major bands to stand up against the political hypocrisy of their time. They were the first band to rebel and grow their hair long, and John Lennon was a huge proponent of peace during the Vietnam war. A lot of their music has subtle political and religious commentary in it. I would say that they are in no way similar to something as lame as the Backstreet Boys. The Kid down at the bottom clearly doesn't know how to think, nor does he understand our history. In the 60's the Beatles were radical, rebellious and different. That is why they became so huge. There are even conspiracy theories about Lennon's death, because he was so politically active. Many believe he was assassinated by more powerful people (rather then an obsessed fan), because he had so much power to change peoples minds and insight free thinking in his fans. Either way, The death of Lennon was as intense and far reaching in effect as Kurt Cobain's suicide. Yet people of this current generation would never say Nirvana sucks. Louie Armstrong was one of the first Jazz musicians to break the barriers between whites and blacks. People then soon began to hate on him, maybe it's jealousy? Considering the technologies of the 60's the Beatles are and will always be a great band.

And do some people love the Patriots because it is the "cool thing to do"? You bet your A$s they do, in both scenarios.
Some people just can't make up their own mind.
Followers and leaders....can't have it all one way or the other.
I don't hate the Pats. Am I a fan of theirs? NO. I am a Skins fan, but have to respect the Pats.
It is similiar to a company making "too much" money. All the other companies will say it is unfair and possibly sue claiming a monopoly or something.
I always thought that if you do your job better than anyone else, you should get respect. Apparently I was wrong.

I am not a Patriots' fan, but they are a great team, and I do respect them. I don't hate them. I also don't worship them!
I'm very much hoping that the Steelers will beat the Patriots this week. It's been hyped so much ... I would really love to see it, but if the Patriots win again, Ohhhhh Wellllll.
The Steelers will make the playoffs, regardless. That is all that matters. The Patriots CAN be beaten. Maybe in the regular season ... maybe not. We'll see!

Sorry I think you judge people prematurely. Football is an entertainment and as it is, you can choose to like or dislike certain teams. Seriously, I can be a Patriots fan if I wanted too, and who will deny me? There is no rule applying that you have to be born in Massachusetts to be a Patriots fan or born in other state to be an NFL fan.
I can dislike the Patriots and just poke at them for fun and who cares it's not like the Patriots get offended and why should you.
I think you have too much pride in a football team and maybe because you have nothing else to be proud of in your life, so you take comments personally. You might need to take some time to see what is important for you and than maybe you won't get so cynical about little media jabs.
By the way the last time I checked Billy Belichick was more anal than Peyton, hopefully this comment won't get you rowdied up like if I said your mom is ugly and fat. no offense.

The Patriots are bad for the NFL. "Every team has done before?" I dont see the paper trail fromyou to back that up. They didnt get caught breaking a rule as you politley put it. They got caught CHEATING. This question is being asked by a front running fan.

Tonight's poll on www.espn.go.com is "Do you want the Patriots to go undefeated?" 44 states and the District of Columbia voted no. 6* states voted yes. Face it, unless you are from New England, you likely don't want the Patriots to do it. Wouldn't be the first time people from New England marched to our own drummer.
* Connecticut was 51-49 yes.

I don't get that feeling at all. The feeling that I do get is that the Patriots and all of their fans are nervous as a henhouse with a fox in it, about every game. And they should be!!

There's a lot of testosterone surrounding all these Patriot's fan's inability to talk up their own team. Personally, I believe it is due to a lack of something deeper within their own private conscience. Why do I feel the obligation to undermine everything the Patriots and their fans do?
Well for one, maybe it's because the Boston metropolitan area tends to have the rudest and most arrogant sports fans, ergo, I hate all sports teams coming out of Massachusetts. But then again, I love all sports teams coming out of St. Louis, and as I recall, the Patriot's first Super Bowl victory was skinned by on the leg of Adam Vinateri over my beloved Rams, forever shadowing the wonder years of the "greatest show on turf" into darkness, only to see an adversary rise on top of the entire decade. You're welcome for your first World series win in, what was it, 86 years? Another reason to hate everything that comes out of Boston.
But I can let that go. But what I can't stand is commentator's tripping over themselves to see who gets Brady's sloppy seconds after John Madden finally stops deep throating him.
You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. But take it further by admitting the arrogance and classlessness of a team who desperately needs to be humbled before your golden boys get hurt.
I just have a problem comparing a jack@$$ like Bellicheck to the likes of Landry, Gibbs, or even Dungy, who didn't have to be @$$holes to win. Even Tom Brady, who in his respect is talented, but lets face it, his weapons are who boosted his stats to mere legendry so stop comparing him to Montana when Brady's Super Bowl rings are the result of the Vinateri's foot, not Brady's arm.
