I don't believe they let him stay the whole time, but they are rather liberal on the amount of time they are allowed to stay, so they can bond with the baby too....

In my experience, no. My husband had to leave when visiting hours were over but he always showed up first thing in the morning and left when he was told to. I will say that visiting hours are a lot more generous than from when I was born. Back then, husbands weren't allowed into the delivery rooms. They had to sit in the waiting rooms and they could only visit for short periods of time. In those days, women were hospitalized for a lot longer after having a baby than they are today. They typically stayed for about a week. Siblings couldn't visit at all.

You'd have to check with the hospital on their guidelines first.
If you have a birthing room with a couch, maybe it could be
arranged. I know our daughter had her best girlfriend stay
in her room til she left. She had a big room with couch and
several comfortable chairs. It was like a sleep over LOL.
I would expect there would be a charge, but there again
check to see what applies to your wants that they will indulge.

My hubby didn't stay with me after having my first, but the next three (different hospital,) he did. He was given a fold out bed & stayed with me until I was released.

I think so there shouldn't be a porblem with that. The hospital should have cots/blankets for them to sleep on and stuff.

it depends on the country you are in...

but it would be nice if your husband can stay with you all time while you're going thru such a tough time.

You need to check that with your health provider - what country are you in also may have some bearing on it too.
