I've had my current hairstyle for about 1 year.
Its a modern hairstyle if I straighten it and if I don't its a 70s hairstyle.

Well I'm a guy and wear it fairly short (military short most of teh time) so not sure if that is a modern haircut...I guess it is since short hair on guys came back into popularity the last 5 years or so...

Since the early 80's. There's not really a style to it, just cut short and combed straight back.

I wear a pony tail because my hair is very long. It's below my waist so it's hard to do anything else with it at this point.
It's been long for 7 years and I still don't want to cut it.
