Ahha.

Endangered. A word almost everyone would like to avoid. Alright. The world is based on helping other species/creatures/etc. to survive and thrive.

The earth, perhaps has billions of species. Some are exotic and beautiful, whereas others....Well let's just not go there.

Some flowers and plants can only be pollenated by certain birds/insects/animals/etc. If a species becomes endangered, and eventually die, a whole other species would lose its source of life.

Like if dolphins were to become extinct, sure people wouldn't be able to hop on a giant mammal fish's back and have fun, but they would also be killing the population of the other animals on this earth.

If worms were gone, then the whole process of making good and healthy soil would slow down.

I don't know if you know or not, but no single species is completely independent. If one were to die off, it would affect the whole kingdom of life, or whatever that was called.

Bella donna, Andy ,and others already said it ,no man is an island we humans are part of the worlds eco systems and depend on them for our survival just because you cannot see the connection or the importance does not make it any less some people say they dont like mosquitos .lets kill them all Well they tried that on the banks of the Danube and all of the life in the wood disappeared, the mosquito's being near the bottom of the food chains of many animals just think what all eats mosquito's and their larvae birds ,toads ,frogs ,lizards ,fish ,other insects like dragon flies, then think what all eats those things ,foxes, other birds, weasels, snakes, etc. and then what eats all who eats them . Now with the bees disappearing in many places there are huge problems with crops not being pollinated . Endangered species also play their parts ,in eco systems that have been fine tuned for millions of years . the more species become endangered ,the more endangered we will become our selves .Because we are on the top . Apart from that what kind of world do you want the children to inherrit??? Our generation and the ones before us have managed to destroy more in a hundred years that all of Humanity in the history of the planet Somewhere along the line should be the sense of responsibility Are we guardians of the lands we ocupy during our life time and during the seconds of the lands existence ,as Native Americans believe ,(they do not think of themselves as owners ) But we do , so do we have the right to wipe it all out in the brief moment that we are here or is the land also meant for those who come after?????????

If we do nothing, the endangered species die off. We try to bring back a species population for the purposes of biodiversity and so on and so. I personally believe everything serves a purpose, even a small, seemingly useless, purpose; for that, it's reason enough to try and keep them from becoming extinct.

Simple. The loss of one species will unbalance an entire ecosystem and could easily cause that ecosystem to collapse. There is also the fact that endangered plant species going extinct can also detract from the amount of oxygen everyone has to breath.

Because if these animal species keep going extinct, then there will eventually be no species left to inhabit the earth. Even human beings are threatened. I don't know about everyone else, but I personally don't want to go extinct.....maybe that is just a natural human instinct. ;)

Because all species have evolved over millions of years to be interdependent in ways we don't fully understand.
Only now are we beginning to discover the beneficial effects of some of the plants in the rain forests and the ability of creatures like the salamander to regenerate amputated limbs.
These discoveries will elude future generations if more species are exterminated.

The effect on the environment cannot be predicted but change will happen.
When they shot all the wolves the deer multiplied. The deer ate up all of the grass next to the river and the banks fell in and changed the course of the river. Species in the river banks suffered and died out.

It is our species that is causing mass extinctions of so many others. Therefore, I believe it is our responsibility to prevent and reverse this damage as much as possible.
