Like the others, I would forget about August.
Now Cassius and Augustus. Both names of very important and influential men - one a champion boxer, and the other, a Roman emperor. (Cassius Clay AKA Muhammad Ali and Caesar Augustus. 80)
I personally like Augustus better, simply because it has better nicknames: Auggie for instance. Much better than Cassie, because you know some cruel kid in middle school would call him that!

Well, I like August and Cassius better. It is a month and it sounds better then Augustus with to me sounds like a fat guy.

I'll have to go with the others who are disagreeing with the pronouncation of Cassius, which has multiple pronouncations, according to the baby name websites that exist out there - none of which include Cash-us, which, and no offence, sounds rather ridicolous. Sorry, but you wanted opinions... personally, not a fan of any of the names, but if I had to choice one, I'd go with August, for the pure fact it doesn't sound too old fashioned and should be pronounced correctly.

Augustus sounds very Rome, it makes me think of those muscular guys, very handsome. I like it, Cassius sounds very Greek and makes me think of a king, very loyal and wise, But August makes me think of a month which isn't really cool. I like Augustus best

When I saw Cassius... I thought it was (Ca-SEE-Us)
However Augustus, is nice! Not made up sounding, a mature name that will grow with the child.
Can be called Gus,August,Auggie or just plain Augustus

I thought Cassius is pronounced CASS-EE-US which is how most people are going to say it anyway so that one is out for me...Plus Cassie is a girls name so he would get teased.
Augustus reminds me of a fat german kid...no offence anybody....
So I would go with August if it was the absolute only last choice I had. Otherwise I wouldn't personally pick any of them.
