The things that you didn't mention are where your are going to be riding and what size foot you have. Check out this snowboard size calculator which will also give you suggestions on what boards would work best.

Since you are a beginner, a more flexible board would be the best, but I would still recommend a "Freeride" board because it has some setback which will help you learn. I think that a freestyle board would be too soft for a big guy like you (they are for me too).

For your size, I would say around 164cm. Look for a board that is wide enough for your foot size (most boards that long will be). Look at the Ride Yukon, K2 Union or Nitro Target.

Good Luck

You need a wide board since you're a bigger guy. You need the width for your feet and also the weight distribution. I'd suggest a Nitro board. They hold up really well. They make nice quality boards and they tend to be fairly stiff which you also need with your weight. I'd suggest a Nitro Revolt, it is a good all terrain board. Check out their site. They probably have some other boards that would work as well. They have a size/weight chart for all their boards.

Check out Nitro boards. They have a good selection of wide boards. I'm guessing you have a size 12-13 shoe. I learned on a 159 (Nitro Target Repeat Wide), but went to a 156 (Santa Cruz Largo) for better control. You might want a little stiffer board as well. The first time out, you may want to rent a board, that way you can try the different sizes to see what one you like best.
