Beginning = 6.2 cm
Now = 11.5 cm

How much it grows ?

Now - Beginning ===> 11.5 cm - 6.2 cm = 5.3 cm

What is 5.3 cm compare to the beginning?

5.3 cm over 6.2 cm OR

5.3 cm / 6.2 cm = .85 x 100 = 85%

It means it grows 85%

Increase = 5.3 cm
% increase = (5.3 / 6.2) x 100%
% increase = 86% (to nearest whole number)

(11.5 - 6.2)/6.2 ~= 0.85 = (0.85)(100/100) = 85/100 = 85%.
