this is a tough one. The court assumes you can pay the support as ordered. If you truly can't make enough to stay current and pay down the arrears a little at a time then you can try filing to have it reduced. Talk to an experienced lawyer in your area that knows the judges well --- it is possible that the fact that you have straightened out your life and are working hard at a legitimate job that they will give you a break ---- but I think it is a long shot.

unfortunately, you're probably not going to get any help with paying your child support. i'm assuming you work a legal job now. in most states, the amount of child support you pay is based on income. it's going to be a long, hard road to catching up, but once you get there, you will feel an incredible sense of satisfaction in knowing that you made it, that you didn't lay up on anyone (hopefully not), and that your kids can be proud to say that you held up your end of the bargain. i know men who purposely stay unemployed or work under the table to avoid paying child support. those types i have no respect for. you can look to cutting back your own expenses, picking up work on the side to supplement your income. you may want to to school to learn a trade so that you can earn more. you will probably qualify for financial aid if your income is real low. some people make the mistake of thinking that since they've "found god" or that they've been delivered from their demons that they should not have to clean up the mess they have made. God forgives us , yes, but the forgiveness does not mean that we are absolved from all that we've done. we still have to pay our debts everyday. and that is one of the truths about redemption. you give back, you make things right. for you to get out of paying your obligation would make your conversion seem only like it was for a selfish purpose. we were not promised a life without struggle, and if you continue to "get over", such as most drug addicts/dealers do, you may as well go back out there and do the same things you've done. when you make a mess, you clean it up, simple as that. you have a moral and legal obligation to support your children. it takes two to tango. they didn't come into this world by themself. be an honorable man and sacrifice to take care of your children. make them proud to call you dad. find some creative(legal)ways to supplement your income so that your children will have what they need. God will look favorably upon you if you do what is right, even if you must struggle and sacrifice to do it. i wish you and your family the best

I am very happy for you....great job.but no one can help you pay your child support...that comes from you no matter if you have to take on 1, 2 or 3 jobs...just talk to some one about it at the court house or a lawyers office and they can set up payments for you...goodluck and may God bless you...

Go see your local domestics office and talk to them, they base child support on your income, maybe a decrease is in order? and getting a good paying job would help too
