Yes; I believe it can be good luck in terms of not jinxing something. For example you might say, "Wow, I am doing so well in school" (knock on wood). They knock on wood to ensure that they will not corrupt their chances of doing well. It is really just superstition. Bue yes, I do "knock on wood." Hope I helped!
