I am 3 days late for my period. I've had some cramping & spotted today which has seemed to have stopped now. I wouldn't call it my period (which is usually really heavy.) My question is what color spotting is normal for implantion bleeding?? Mine was kinda brown when I first wiped & an hour later was pink, late afternoon was brown again. Now almost nothing like it's going to stop. Is this normal? Thanks.

Implantation bleeding, also called implantation spotting, does not look like a regular menstrual period. Implantation bleeding is scanty and usually pink or brownish discharge.

Have you tested yet? You should get an accurate result since you are late for your period. This does sound like implantation bleeding though. Only about 30% of pregnant women experience it though, but that's only the ones who notice it. It usually occurs around the time your period is due and should require no more than a pantyliner due to pink/brown spotting sometimes only noticeable when using the restroom. It can last anywhere from a few hours up to 3 days.

Note to MandyMoo: Implantation occurs 7-10 after ovulation. Ovulation usually occurs mid-cycle give or take a few days. It's different for every woman. Anyway, implantation usually occurs a few days prior to or even after the expected period.

An implantation bleed happens 6-12 days after conception. (ovulation) It is where the egg implants itself to the lining of the uterus to grow into baby.
It is usually brown to pinkish, but can also be a dark red.
It can range from just being a spot on the toilet paper, to a light bleed, ranging 2 hours to 3 days.
An implantation bleed generally won't be associated with any pain, though a small amount of cramping may be present.

I don't understand what you mean by "now its almost nothing like its going to stop." Does that mean you're bleeding heavily? If you know you're pregnant, then this may be an early miscarriage.
If you're not pregnant, this may be your period, (periods sometimes change,) Or it could be a missed miscarriage.
(known as missed abortion) Where you miscarried before you knew you were pregnant.

Good luck. I hope it all goes well for you.

If you are late for you period it probably isn't implantation. That usually occurs 2 weeks before your period is due. It could be though, maybe you ovulated later in your cycle than you thought. It can range in color from brown to red to pink. You can also spot when you are pregnant, its caused by the uterus stretching or the cervix changing to accommodate the fetus. I would say take a pregnancy test and if you don't get a positive result or your period, wait a few days or a week and test again. Or call your doctor. Good luck!

It's usually brown spotting that lasts a day or 2, and comes about a week before your period is due, which is when you implant.
