it depends on if you used a 100% solution of bleach. If That's the case then it is not cause it might discolor the area really badly

if it's a 50/50 of bleach and water, that's less harmful to us but still deadly to the bacteria and germs on the area.

i take it your mother-in-law is trying to disinfect areas with bleach?

if that's the case then she should spray some and let it air dry out

Why on earth would you go and spray your countertop with bleach. That's just terrible. I sell a product called EcoSense Tough & Tender Multi-purpose surface cleaner. One 16 oz. bottle will make up to 4-24 oz. bottles. This is a very big savings, because you only have to put a small amount into the 24 oz. bottle and then add water to the rest of it. You can use this cleaner on counter tops, cabinets, light fixtures, artificial plants, appliances, and stove tops. There are no chemicals in this product or none of the other products that we have out there. No fumes to make your eyes red, and itchy. Strong bleach can knock you right out. This product is 100% guaranteed.

Like the one answer depends if the bleach is full strength. I always have a spray bottle with bleach+water. Full strength bleach would be hard on the counter may fade it the counter. She needs to wipe it off with a wet cleaning towel.

I researched using bleach as a disinfectant in my house and you're supposed to dilute it then spray, leave on for a minute or two (if you want to use countertop asap) or airdry if you aren't going to use it asap.
It's healthy b/c it kills germs but it's not healthy if it's overdone because bleach isn't something you want to consume.
