What do you mean had?? What did people do with theirs? They are like family members... I can't believe anyone would toss out a pet, just because they became tired of it! How CRUEL!

Mine still has googly eyes and is sitting above the television keeping an eye on what we are doing. He is a good boy.

SHAME ON YOU WHO HAVE ABANDONED YOUR POOR PETS!

*Sigh* now I am going to have to start a rescue shelter for those tossed aside.... if they have not all passed on because of neglect.

James B- You threw it WHERE??? *feints*

No. I rock-sat for a friend once. But the stupid thing wouldn't eat and it died. It just sat there as if nothing was wrong. I thought it was asleep! But, when I touched it to see if it was o-kay, it was so cold! As soon as I touched it, I knew. I didn't know what to do. Who do you call when something like that happens? Well, I'll tell you what I did. I picked that rock up, and I tossed it right out the window. I kinda felt bad when I heard the cold "CHINK" as it hit the ground. But, then I looked out the window to see if it had shattered into a million pieces and I got the shock of my life! That rock wasn't dead at all! He was out there with all his buds soacking up the rays and having a great time at The Rock Concert.

In 1973 I bought a pet rock at a toy store in the mall.
It actually cost $1.99.It was sold in a box similar to a live hamster box.
It came with an instruction book to teach it tricks.

Yes. I had pet rockS. They were great and would move a little each day when placed in the sunlight. They are very low maintenance and lived very easily in a little clear plastic cube. Forgot to feed them? No problem. Forgot to give them water? Again, no problem. Perfect pets.

Ver_jen - too funny! LMAO.
Give her the points.

Easiest pet I ever had to take care of. Doesn't need to be taken out to go potty and I never have to worry about having to feed it. ever now nad again I would take it off theshelf and give a good dusting off

Yes. I actually had two. The first one, "Flint" died in a swimming pool related accident, and "Lime" ran away from home. I still miss the way he would sit at the back door all day/night waiting for me to get home.

nope. when i was in second grade, everybody made pets outta paper. we would cut out, like a ghost figure, but, without the squiggly lines, n the bottom being straight. we would draw eyes n a mouth. then, hole punch a hole in the top. then, we would tie a string to the hole. we would walk around, pretending to walking
our pets :)

This is just a guess, but if someone had a pet rock I would have to assume they were really bored. Even a fish would be more fun to watch.
