The funnest game ever will always be Grand Theft Auto, if you exclude Guitar Hero and Rock Band. (those are so good, they don't count) You just have so much freedom in GTA, it is amazing. You can beat the game, and still keep on playing forever!
The greatest game of all time is Super Mario 64. There are so many levels, and it just keeps on going and going and going. Exspecially for the time period in which it was made.

Depends on the genre but my all time favourites are:
Civilization, Dungeon Master, Elite, Streetfighter 2, Final Fantasy 2, Zelda, a link to the past.

'Civilization' The ultimate game from version 1 to 4. I've never enjoyed any other game as much as this one.
It's an addiction. Once you start, your live is ruined:
* you have a poor hygiene
* your diet consists of junk food
* you don't sleep enough
* you have no more social life
* you lose your job
* your girlfriend leaves you
* your friends and family think you're dead
