i am of a number of minds on this, firstly after being caught buggering off with a bar of soap when i was 8 (don't ask long story) and being threatened with prison (the imagination of an 8 years old meets prison you do the math) so career criminal wasn't on my "to-do" list, however the little voice that says "cop didn't see it i didn't do it" would no doubt be getting louder and louder as that PS3 was floating past. for for it being wrong yes it is as for which one would win in me is anyones guess

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.
According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Legal system says....NO. Common sense a logic say YES.
The more honerable reason would be to get usable things like food and blankets for use with people victimized by the flood. I have mixed feelings about things like TV's and Jewelry. On one hand those types of things are not neccesities and there is not an immediate critical need for them due to the disaster. On the other hand, just like the survival items, the TV's and Jewelry are also covered by the stores insurance and will be replaced and/or paid for. If i were watching a 10inch black n white TV at home I honestly dont know if I would let the stores merchandise go to the dump if it was still usable, or not.......Good Question.

The media portrays the poor and minorities as looters while everyone else is simply ~finding~ things. What's so unfortunate isn't that the media is racist. The media isn't racist at all; the media is motivated by money just like most of the world. So they produce what ever sells. And what sells? The poor and minorities being painted as nothing more than a bunch of criminals; ~that's~ what sells. That's the saddest thing of all because it's what most of this country wants to see ~~~because that's what they believe~~~ even other poor people and minorities. We've been manipulated so much that ~even we~ are believing the lies we're being told. I can't even tell you how many other black people I've been around who have been watching the lying media's looting stories and made statements like "I don't understand our people. That's why white people don't respect us," and "Why do we keep doing this to each other?"
Why do we believe the lies?

If its a matter of life and death survival in a major disaster situation, then yes its is perfectly ok to loot food and other stuff like a cell phone and calling card, a tv or radio some walky talkys, shoes clothes once you are actually looting the place might as well go all the way and take anything you want, the store has insurance so who cares.

Look at this picture closely. The picture of the black woman is by the AP, & the picture of the white couple is by the AFP. The stories weren't written by the same news agency. But no it isn't ok to steal from Wal-Mart during a flood, unless if you're getting food or clothes.

I would assume that if a person was "stealing" supplies needed to survive until rescued then it'd be okay. If there was a flat screen television and a ps3 in the boat, then no, no it's not okay. lol
