Not bad at all for just starting this year! Just remember to watch your position. You have a tendency to tip forward sometimes and other times you slip into a chair seat (leaning back and lower leg shooting out in front of you). One thing you can do to help improve your stability is to make sure you are using your core muscles when you ride. Also, check that you are sitting on your seat correctly. I like to think of the seat as a triangle- the two seat bones and the pubic arch. You want pressure on all three points of your seat. If your seat is in the right position then you will be able to help secure your lower leg without clamping or pinching. Think about making your seat and leg independent from your hands as well. Other than that, just keep riding and balance and timing of the aids will come with more practice!

Very good for just starting out. I do agree with a few of the above answers, watch your seat during transtitions. You are a little forward (I'm guilty of that a lot but my new horse is not forgiving so I have to remember to sit back). Steady your hands a little and watch your leg position. Those things are all things that will come in time so do not get discouraged. The more you ride the more you will feel the correct position and soon it will come naturally. Good luck and keep up the good work.

You did a very nice job. I would recommend doing some bareback work, or riding without the stirrups periodically - it will help you sit the trot (I know you were posting), and get rid of that "rocking horse" motion you do at a canter. Riding bareback/no stirrups will also help your leg strength and keep your legs from coming away from the horse's body as you ride.

For a first year rider you appear to be doing very well, and you seem to have good control over your horse. Keep up the good work!

You look pretty good! Only things I saw were: sit down in the saddle, all your weigh and move with the horse. When he moves your movement should the same as his because you are "part" of him. Let him have a little more head, if your worried about not having control, when he goes a way you don't want to, circle him around using the reins against his neck on whichever side you want him to turn. And use your heels to direct him. I envy you right now, my stallion is too spunky to ride right now and you look like you are having so much fun. You go girl!!! Have faith in eachother and you will do fine.

You look pretty good! Try not to lean forward and keep your heels down -- two things you will hear about a billion times while learning to ride!

Your hand position looks nice. Be sure not to let the reins get too long, you will lose control -- but you seem to be doing a good job.

A tip for filming -- next time you want to film yourself, try wearing light colored pants, so we can see your leg position against the dark horse.

Your horse seems very nice!

Good for you! You look great. At the lope, you seemed to fall behind a little, your torso would rock back somewhat behind the vertical. But I think you have a really nice horse and I'm glad you're enjoying riding.

Your horse rocks :) What a nice horse.

I didn't get to watch all of the video sorry, had people IM'ing the snot outta me,

But ride with your thumbs up. You have whats called piano hands. I used to also ;)

In your walk/lope transition, sit up straight, no leaning forward.

Also it your lope, concentrate on sitting up straight and bringing your shoulders back.

Over all your doing fabulous and a huge kudos to you! You have a very nice horse!
