My vote is for Paul McCartney's "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time."

Jesus Holy Christ, I hate that song! That dopey, midi-style keyboard, the awkward syntax, the irritating chorus ... and the fact that radio stations and department stores think its "hip" and start playing it ad nauseum beginning November 28th!

That song is almost enough to make me hate Christmas!

Okay, I'm sorry. I guess, what I really want to know is if anyone else finds this song as irritating as I do.

Happy Holidays!

I think any of those "pop" Christmas songs. I guess one reason why I dislike them so much is that the shopping malls and stores keep blasting them and it really starts grinding on your nerves.

I completely agree about Paul McCartney's song. Others that I cannot listen to are Christmas Shoes, Christmas Wrapping (I think is the name?) by the Waitresses, I'm Getting Nuttin' For Christmas, The 12 Pains of Christmas, Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, and Do They Know It's Christmas. The latter because half the nations listed in the song don't even celebrate Christmas.

There are so many beautiful Christmas songs out there so why do they play these all the time?

Wow. I discovered this thread almost the moment this godforsaken song came on the radio. I despise this song. Especially because for the longest time I would swear the words were "Safely having a wonderful etc..." and thought to myself...is Xmas really that dangerous? What kind of safety are we talking about here? Looking both ways before crossing the street? Not sharing needles? What?

I am so...unbelievably glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. Apparently not liking a McCartney song can really get you nailed in an office workplace.

The issue is that dogs are poor generalizers - it's not that the dog is "sneaky, greedy" etc, but that they have no intrinsic sense of morality or "rightness" and so only think something is "bad" if it has bad consequences. If it has never had bad consequences except with a human in the room, then how on earth are they to know that the rules still apply with the human out of the room? You need to train in such a way that corrections and rewards occur when the dog does not think you are present - i.e. hiding around the corner. Read here https://tr.im/Oy0xT

I personally owned a Labrador Retriever (read: chow hound) that could be left 6" from a hot dog in a sit-stay for half an hour and not touch it - the word was "mine" and it meant that you don't touch that, even if I am not in the room, even if whatever, you DO NOT touch that. You could leave a plate of food on the floor for hours and not only would she not touch it, she would also keep the other animals (dogs and cats) from touching it.

In all probability, these dogs studied were just not properly trained/proofed before the experiment. With "proofing" to set them up and catch them in the act to give
