Yeah, it happens pretty often when the system is overloaded. A voice message should get through eventually though I've had them show up as much as a day late.
A text message has a much better chance of being delivered quickly even when the system is very busy. During Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath, many text messages did get through although voice communications on most of the cell networks was completely dead.

Yes it could happen. If your friend was in a government building or underground parking lot then the phone wont have any reception. when u call him, the phone would rings about 2 times and went to automated message. It wont have any missed call in his phone. If u leave either a voice or text message, it would take about 20 - 30 min for his cellphone to get it once the reception is back.
In the other hand, if he is using a smart phone or PDA phone, he could install a program "Call filter" in his phone to filter your call. If u r on his filter list and u call him, then the phone will ring and to automated message. there will not be any missed call in his phone or an unknown number showed in his missed call (depends on the setting of the program).
There is a very very little chance for the peak hours thing to happend. Even if it does, then u would hear "the network is busy" or it just simply display on ur phone.

There is a very very little hazard for the peak hours thing to happend. Even supposing it does, then u would hear "the community is busy" or it simply easily display on ur telephone.

That is a difficult question. I know in areas of questionable service, I have seen instances where calls do not show on the phone and do not show up as missed. As for messages and text, they often arrive too late to mean anything or after the person has gone to an area of better service.
But, people normally know if they are in a good service area or not. If there is more to this story, then I would say your friend is full of it, but if he's stuck in an area where the service might not be so hot, then it could be true.

The voice message will go through because this is done at the phone company. it is common for a call to not hit the phone (due to poor signal, tower traffic, weak batttery, etc) and no missed call will register and this is common. Most of the time the text will eventually go through but the voice message is 99.9% reliable.

particular it ought to ensue. in the adventure that your pal became into in a central authority construction or underground parking zone then the telephone wont have any reception. whilst u call him, the telephone could jewelry approximately 2 situations and went to automatic message. It wont have any neglected call in his telephone. If u go away the two a voice or textual content fabric message, it may take approximately 20 - 30 min for his cellular telephone to get it as quickly as the reception is lower back. in the different hand, if he's using a clever telephone or PDA telephone, he ought to establish a application "call clear out" in his telephone to clear out your call. If u r on his clear out checklist and u call him, then the telephone will ring and to automatic message. there is only no longer any neglected call in his telephone or an unknown variety confirmed in his neglected call (relies upon on the placing of this device). there is an exceptionally little or no probability for the top hours ingredient to happend. despite if it does, then u could hear "the community is busy" or it only only demonstrate on ur telephone.

If he was in a area with good signal, then it could be caused by a cellphone blocker. They are illegal devices that people purchase on the internet, install in a building or carry with them and they block cell phone signals in the area. The system would then give you a message since it wasn't able to reach the cell and believed it was off.

yes it is possible for your cell phone to not ring when someone calls and for the number to not appear as a missed call. i have this same problem with my cell phone sometimes. although it seems like this only happens when my cell phone is not on. you should check with the carrier of your phone to make sure and to find out why this happens. hope i was helpful!

Maybe he doesn't have signal. That happens, especially if it only rang twice and straight to voicemail, not for a long time.
