I am doing a research project about being a flight attendant. And I can't find what college or universities are good choices for this career. Don't tell me that airlines require only a high school diploma because I know that already. I need to know why also.

I'm not asking for colleges that provide flight attendant programs. I'm just asking like which college is best for skills that flight attendants need for example psychology, foreign language, communication, travel & tourism, speech, etc.

College is not required for flight attendants, nor is there any college in the United States that has training geared specifically for people who want to become flight attendants.

Certainly, attending college is an asset. For example, one can learn a foreign language in college, or about international economy and interpersonal communication.

Your research project asks you to list three colleges that are particularly good for prospective flight attendants. For Doctor, you may have been justified in writing down Johns Hopkins University, which is well known for its predominance of premeds. However, for flight attendant, your best choice would be to write something along the lines of:

"There are no two-year of four-year colleges that specialize or have a program specializing in flight attendant training. Instead, flight attendants are only required to have a high school diploma or GED, and to possess certain communication skills such as an ability to work well as part of a team. While these skills can certainly be learned in college, flight attendants will hail anywhere from recent high school graduates to Arizona State University alumni to people who hold a Masters in Science in Management from Stanford. The most practical aspects of being a flight attendant are learned during airline sponsored training sessions. Instead, someone interested in being a flight attendant may benefit from taking another language in college, and in taking courses that focus on effective management."

To just list three random colleges would be akin to lying about the qualifications necessary to become a flight attendant.

Check out websites such as the one listed in the source for more information on flight attendant qualifications.

Important Note: Even if you like the answer above, do not just copy and paste. Find your own way to say what you want to convey.

Flight Attendant Colleges

You are asking for something which just doesn't make sense. Of course, most airlines would be glad to have a flight attendant who was a college graduate, but there is no such thing as a flight attendant major, or a particular school which would be better than any other to prepare you for this career.

You don't need a college degree to be a flight attendant. Airlines offer their own training programs, which typically last a few months at most.

However, if you wanted to be a flight attendant on international flights, you might want to major in a useful language (Spanish, French, Mandarin, German).

You don't need to go to college to become a flight attendant. Just a high school diploma.
