One way our school raised money was to have penny wars, or various other school-wide competitions such as this one.

A penny war is simple.. each teacher who has a bucket. Students chuck pennies in the bucket to gain the teacher points. Others can throw in bigger coins (nickels, dimes, quarters, etc) to make them lose those points up to that coin's value (nickel = 5 points, etc.) The teacher with the most points by the end of the contest gets a pizza party for their homeroom, or some such prize like that. Free food is always a good incentive ;) Could make the losing teacher have to do some random stupid dare, like if it's a male teacher, wear women's clothes for a day, or something crazy like that. Make sure it's an easygoing teacher and they agree to it beforehand. That will definitely make people chuck larger coins into some teachers buckets. One teacher at my school actually paid a rather large amount to make sure he WASN'T the losing teacher (he put a lot of money into the VP's bucket so he was the loser instead). They would run this contest a few times throughout the year.

Good luck.

a million penny round up (that would be a lot of $1). Fund raisers are fine but so may are over done try asking your friends and neighbors for pennies to help your club achive a specific goal--- and you will be surprised at the amount you can acquire and quickly. My Math class did this and we raised $15,000 for computers and desks for our math lab - it was easy and there were no deliveries just a Free announcement in the paper that showed the lab and thanked the community for it's support. Good Luck!
