I have a pair of all white vans slip-ons that I bought specifically to customize. Please don't suggest to get it professionally done, because I am myself a professional graphic designer. I just want to know what material to use. I would use acrylic paints, but I don't want the thick feeling of paint, and I'm afraid of them cracking. So I was looking into markers, and I have some Sakura brush pens that are supposed to not bleed on paper. Does anyone have experience with something like this? I want to find some type of marker of archival quality that won't bleed on the canvas of the shoes. Thank you. =]

I don't think the pens will work. Well, are they permanent ink? Maybe they will then. I suggest finding a small amount of canvas in the same color and practicing on it. If you don't have anything at home that you don't care about possibly ruining, then just go pick up something cheap at a thrift store. Then you can try everything and see what you like the best.

Is it possible to contact the company who makes the slipons and ask them what works best? I'm sure they've had experience with all sorts of things and can recommend if it be airbrushed, painted, dyed, etc.
