The first roster came out for Team Canada yesterday. There will be some tough cuts there.

Anyways, my question is- Can you see any NHL clubs loaning their players to Team Canada this year? Obviously, Jordan Staal won't be going, Toews won't be going. Possibility that Gagner could be on loan from the Oilers?
Man, I always look forward to this tourney. You Pens fans will finally get to see Espisito showcased, assuming he makes the team, which I would think he would.
No Logan Couture, even on the preliminary list. Goaltenders seem set in stone. Good chance to see Stamkos (should be the #1 overall pick this year), interested to see if Tavares can impress me finally. Want to see how Flyers pick Gireaux does (having a fine season in the Q). Van Riemsdyk for the U.S.
Should be good.

I guess Perron of the Blues and Gagner are the only ones being considered by their NHL teams.

Jordan Staal, Pittsburgh; Jonathan Toews, Chicago; James Sheppard, Minnesota; and Milan Lucic, Boston; will remain with their NHL clubs.

I hope they have the good sense to bring MacLean along to play with Tavares. Those two work really well together and they have the kind of chemistry that could take hold on the team. I've seen a few Generals games this year and it makes sense to have them together.

I always enjoy the WJHC, and every year it seems tough to pick the Canadian team. Just like in the Olympics it seems like the Canadians could ice 2 teams and both would be good! Although I can't see any of the NHL teams loaning the available guys this year, I guess you never know until the final roster is set.
Not sure where the Canadian competition is going to come from this year - maybe the U.S.

If the so called super series is any indication, we should have enough players left available to field a competetive team. Certainly going to look a lot different than last year's edition, though. Turris, Tavares, Stamkos and Esposito can make up for a lot of the missing offense if they get it together. Sure going to miss the experience of Gagne, Staal and Toews, but I think we can make up for it. No shortage of talent.

Yeeeah, Pittsburgh media has made mention of this many times now... so I'm hoping he DOES make the team, because the media's been getting me psyched up for it. I'd like to see him play. I was disappointed when he had to sit out the Super Series with a groin injury... Laaame.

Wow, I didn't think the Oilers would let Sam Gagner go... LITY says it's a long shot, so I guess I wasn't off base there.

Oh, and Ray Shero was adamant about not having Jordan Staal go. Even Staalsy said he didn't WANT to go. Lol. Hey, that makes me happy because even if he's not on the scoreboard every night, (causing all this talk of a sophmore slump) he's still killing penalties and doing the little things!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it as always. Its too bad that a lot of very good eligible players probably won't be going but we'll still ice a good team and bring home the gold. Go Canada Go!

I'm not envying Hartsburgh's decision's at all.

I've heard that Perron is a strong possibility but that Gagner is a long-shot. I was glad to see Turris on the list because a couple of months ago there were rumours he didn't want to play this year.

i don't see any of those players being loaned for the WJHC. You pay them too much money for the change that they get hurt in a game that is not benefiting your team. JVR is putting on a show at UNH and he'll put on a show at the WJHC. JVR will prove that he belongs with the Flyers for the next season.

Bob, I thought the Oilers shut the door on Gagne?
