1. Many more individuals are born than can possibly survive, thus there is competition for limited resources

2. Within this vast number there is variation, and because of this variation some of these individuals will have an advantage--however slight--over others

3. The ones who have the advantages are more competitive and thus they are more likely to obtain the limited resources

4. The ones who are succeeding in securing the limited resources are more likely to reproduce and thus pass onto their offspring the more competitive traits

Yes, you are correct that resources are reproduced by nature. The problem is that some (like oil) are being used much quicker then they can be reproduced.

And just for a fun fact cause I saw people mention nuclear fuels - only about 30% of a rod from a nuclear power reactor is actually spent. Other countries (such as France) have plants to recover the unspent parts of the rods and reuse them thus cutting on nuclear waste and the efficentcy of the process. The U.S. does not have any of these plants currently and the only plans for building them are pretty far off sadly.

Natural resources are limited in the sense that they take so long to replenish and we are using them in such an alarming rate that we can and very possibly will run out . The earth could recover alot from some of the damage we have inflicted but only if everyone was on board to help out and thats not gonna happen . Even if everyone would help out it still couldn't recooperate fully from all the damage we have done.

they are sufficient for us but we need to think for our future generations. earth may not be able to reproduce as once what we take from mother earth it is gone but yes we humans can find out different resources and there uses as mother has something for her children. as far as harms done by humans earth is very much capable of doing that if we humans keep on spoiling earth she might wipe out us humans and go on...

How selfish. God's Earth could desire to care much less what number actual everyone seems to be crawling throughout it. If resourses get used up, the only element that suffers are the inhabitants. Who teaches those products that Earth desires to be 'secure' from people.

If the earth made those resources in the past there's no reason to believe that it can't make them in the future.

Some are limited, like fossil fuels and nuclear fuels.

Some are renewable, like trees.

Some are semi-renewable, like water. No more water is produced, but it is possible to clean polluted water.

Earth will recover from anything, eventually. She is 4.55 billion years old, after all. Its humans that will bite the big one.

Earth is capable of recovering! But not with the rate at which we are raping it!

Some (coal, fossil fuels, etc.) are limited and non-replenishible. Others, like water and air, are reproduced.
