He made his 27th 4th quarter comeback last monday and at 30 years old. Now he's 20 comebacks shy of John Elway's record.

Elway owns this record in more ways than one. Brady under pressure folds up like a lawn chair. Elway was able to scramble with the football in a tucked position and then be able to throw 40+ yards across the field to a defended receiver and have that receiver come back to the huddle and tell Elway "That hurt."

To make a long story short Brady doesn't belong in the same sentence as Elway.

First, the "comeback" thing is grossly overrated. As previously stated, all that means is that the team - or the QB himself - were not taking care of business when they needed to.
Second, Elway is perhaps one of the most over-rated QBs to play. His numbers were strictly based on playing for many years. His regular season stats are nothing extraordinary, with the exception of high numbers from longevity. His career QB rating is a mediocre 79.86, which would put him at #18 this year in the NFL. Guys like Brees, Hasselbeck, Pennington, Garcia and McNair all have higher career QB ratings - and none of these are considered great. His career playoff QB rating is even lower, at 79.8. Yeah, he made it to 5 Super Bowls, but his play in those games was even worse - 3 TDs and 8 INT. If it were not for Terrell Davis, Elway would never have won a Super Bowl.

I think so. But for all the people who are laughing this off, that's just not fair. Elway was amazing, and Brady just hasn't been around long enough to say for sure yet. Super Bowls aren't everything in determining a great QB. i believe the patriots as a team are better than those broncos teams Elway played on.

That doesnt mean a QB is better or worse. It just means that hes been getting behind in games more often than Elway did. If he was a truly good QB he wouldnt even have that many chances for 4th quarter comebacks.

Yes,

Now I do not believe that Brady will break Elway's comeback record, however Tom Brady will have better stats and more super bowl championships when he is finished then Elway which makes him better than John Elway

What do you mean will he be. He already is and has been for a few years. He has more rings, a better win percentage, and much better career stats. I think there are better comparisons. All said Elway was a great quarterback and I enjoyed watching him play for many years and in his five Superbowl appearances. He is one of my all time players. Brady is just on another level.

He already is. They dont mention Elway when they talk about the greats, Bradshaw, Montana, and so on. but they do talk about Brady.
