BCCI has lost of money and this formality of filling this post has to be done. India need bowling and fielding coaches rather than batting coach. BCCI is just brainless and spineless organisation. They are like uneducated people possessing a Benz car.

Gary Kirsten Indian Coach?
Best Of Luck India.

As usual like others had worked for Team India.
Again same problems will occur. Same disputes with players and Board. B'cos at the end, BCCI is the culprit, which is full of Jokers and Politicians.

Whatever Indian Cricket Team is displaying is atleast 50 - 60%. If each and every individual will work hard on the field and if he will out of politics, then i think even without any coach, Team India can deliver 70 -80%.

Gary Kirsten can just add hardly 10 - 15% maximum.

Many coach comes in to give coaching to indian cricket team
and after earning a good amount they goes back by leaving a zero result. This should not be an issue that Gary Kirsten will be a good coach or not but the issue must be that, is there definitly need a coach or foreginer coach......? Senior members of the team can do this job much effectively. They can understand much better the team member;s feelings and requirements than any other. Indian team is doing well under under the coaching of present indian coachers. By hiring a foreigner coach, BCCI always insults indian cricket legands like Sunil gavaskar, Ravi shastri, venktesh etc. I don"t know Gary will fit or not but i know it very well that BCCI has addicted him as a good waister of money. They know that ICT need a foreign coach but they are not aware of the people suiciding everyday due to their hungerness, thirst, . Can BCCI should not contribute his some part of money for that people........????????????????????????????

Gary Kirsten is Very Good Indian Cricket Coacher

appointing Gary Kirsten is one more attempt to understand that a foreigner coach is not always profitable........

we have some gods of cricket made by India and we dishonour them by appointing any foreigner by sudden draw!

GARY KIRSTEN WILL NOT WORK!

the Indian team is well in Indian hands, any Indian coach will be better which can understand the local managements' errors and can face them in front of his own people!

people will never support a foreigner coach fighting the local cricket control board!

The very manner his appointment is announced is odd. Usually, the employee accepts the offer of the employer and not vice versa. The monolith BCCI seems to be happy over having somebody to accept the post at last. However, a person without any coaching exxperience and who had not a so edifying opinion about the country, who has had no interaction with the (senior) players, it is very difficult to speculate on his success. For a person to take charge 4 months later, it would have been better if BCCI continued with Rajput for the forthcoming tours until March 2008 Wish the Indian team best of luck and concentration on their job. Yes, because he is a good cricketer with good cricket knowledge and since he was opening batsman he knows the nuances of bowling and about fielding the south Africans are the best. since he is an batting specialist, his batting coaching will be the best.

overall he should take cue from John Wright about dealing with the Indian cricket control board, selectors and players. Then only he could be a successful Indian coach.

I think that he will not. Basically the reason why i think we keep foreign coaches is because they can help the officials in financial transactions in foreign currencies. In the country, they are liable to be taxed; so hire a foreign coach, over pay him and keep the balance in foreign accounts. Other than that, i see no reason why Indian coaches cannot be suitable. And if the board is of the opinion that Indian coaches are not suitable, i think that we should have foreigners as the Chairman and other members since Indians must not be suitable to run the board either. Isn't it? How is it that we have good administrators and not coaches.
