#5 Detroit?
C'mon look at there offense and pitching. I say #2 next to Boston. The Yankees can be #3.

I agree with your top 5 teams, but not in that order. Depending on the Santana trade:
1 - Boston ( The champs are Always the team to beat, oooo we lost Timmy's personal catcher, like that'll hurt)
2 - Detroit
3 - Yankees (if they get Santana, they move up to 2)
4 - Cleveland
5 - Angels

ha!! the yankees?!?!? you are delusional
the real top 5 are
1 Boston- they are they champs, and they are scarey good
2 LA Angels- already were a good team and made great improvements so far this off season
3 Detroit- that trade bumped them from 5 or 6 to 3
4 Cleveland- a very solid team
5 Milwaukee- a lot of young talent, and after what they went through last year, they will have learned alot, should help them in the pennant chase this year

I agree w/ Moose, The Tigers should at least be number 2 or 3, and Boston should be number 1.
Yankees #5;-)

Just because you're a Yankee's fan doesn't mean you should put them as number one. Be realistic. And Detroit 5th? Give me a break.

honestly i dont even see the yankees in the top 5 my list would go
American league
1) boston red sox ( especially if they get j. santana )
2) detriot tigers ( after that trade there scary )
3) anahaim angels ( they've have a good team for a few years now)
4)seattle marineers ( they got a young squad and i think they'll pull it together this year)
5)minnesota twins ( they seem to surprise everyone every year )
National league
1 colorado rockies
2) arizona diamondbacks
3) san diego padres
4) la dodgers
5)st louis cardinals
it is real early to try and tell but with the ways things are going i think these are gonna be the teams to beat , new yorks run is over

I would have to agree with your selections. The only National League teams that can compete with any of these teams in the world series would be:
Phillies
Mets
Braves
Padres
Cubs
Dodgers
In any case I would have to say that regardless of the match ups, the American League teams would be favored in the 2008 world series.
