The skatarama. It was a skating rink. At ten o'clock we would put the skates up and it turned into a teen club. After 7th grade I would always go after hours. My mom worked late nights so u had a lot of freedom back then. My older sister and brothers would have to take me every were they went. So I was going to the Skatarama at 10 and 11. Because they were 16,15 and 14. Lucky me. I was taught how to french kiss on the dance floor of the skatarama. I was a freshman and the girl was a senior. "Go Big Sam!!!!! Me and my friend thought we were M C Hammer with our high top fade haircuts, patent leather shoes and colorful clothes. He and I would dance like it was essential to life. Well I guess to dance every now and again is essential to living.

We would sneak into the woods, hang out at a school playground or there was one guy who's parents didn't really care if we were all around and we'd hang in his attic. Later in high school there were a few bars we could get into - Friendly's and Bob's Tap that had music and pool tables.

Folsom Lake. There was this little beach few people knew about between Granite Bay and Beal's Point where much wondrous debauchery and underage drinking took place. Good times.

Cruise Avenue or the parking lot at the Food Land.. LOL! We seriously used to just park our cars in a row and hang out around our cars for hours in the grocery store parking lot. That's West Virginia for ya.
