Yes! I think Huckabee would make a great president. He has good values and he's not corrupt like a lot of the other candidates are. I would be so happy if he won!

I hope you look to Huckabee for more than just a good speaker, though he is an excellent one.
What I like about Mike? I believe him. I disagree with him on certain issues, but I always know where he is coming from. The political winds blow, and its important to know that we have a president than can stand up to them. He speaks of optimism, of uniting the American people, of the American dream. Other candidates focus on threats....immigration, terrorism, Hillary, ect. Yet he is not a simple idealist, he is at the same time willing to take firm stances on these issues when necessary.
I find it relieving that he admits that he does not have all the answers. He is willing to accept advice. The combination of this a strong values makes for a very strong president. I believe that many of the problems we have faced in recent years stem from a President who has been unwilling to accept the wisdom of others.
Edit: To John T: Indeed, we are not electing a preacher. We are electing a President, which is exactly why "It's interesting that that question would even be asked of someone running for President. I'm not planning on writing the curriculum for an 8th grade science book." (Huckabee).

No!! No more Repubs or Dems. They have had their chances, and have screwed up everything! Huck seems like a genuinely nice man,, but we need a leader in this country who can deal with the problems of today in a practical way. Huck is a little too much of a Religious freak for my taste!! God will not solve this countrys problems, only an intelligent, practical and reasonable man may be able to do that!!
I would like to see Lou Dobbs run as an independent and give both parties a real scare, since he seems to appeal to people across party lines!!!

No, Huckabee is not a fiscal conservative.. He has a record of tax hikes (an estimated half a billion dollars) and favoring amnesty for illegal immigrants (including supporting a measure giving them drivers licenses).. he was already under investigation for ethics violations and his pardoning of a rapist will come back to haunt him. In a prior debate he stated that he would enter a war with Iran without the consent of Congress and if elected he will raise taxes and sink the US into more debt..

Compared to the current President yes. But I am not so sure about how he measures up to the other candidates. For President we need a super duper world diplomat who knows how to select expert presidential advisers. Maybe such a President could some how make some friends around the world for us. Huckabee is a good domestic diplomat but I don`t know he would fare internationally.

No, not if he is not going to stop the illegals from coming over.
I believe every Republican candidate knows that this is a major issue.
Huckabee may get into the house. But as a V.P. to Hunter.

I like what he said about helping the veterans. The Vets have not gotten any attention from anyone else.

I like him. I think that he would be a great President, but I don't know if he can energize the rest of the Republican party behind him.
I'll vote for him.

I don't know if I trust him since he is a former Minister. I am religious myself but a man that was a Minister doesn't seem like a good representation of our country, since many of us are not religious
He seems like a pretty decent candidate. After McCain and Giuliani, he is probably my third choice for Republicans
But I'm voting Obama
