Scooter: I see how people would think I was asking if someone has proposed in the Seniors room. Actually (and it was my fault) I meant has the question about proposals ever been asked in the Seniors room yet.

My hubby was sitting on the sofa playing his guitar for me, a lovely spanish type melody he had made up himself.
I was sitting on the floor leaning against the sofa. When I looked up at him he met my eyes and said "will you marry me".
I did and nearly 2 years later we are still married and he still plays his quitar for me. AAWWWW!!!!

Well I wasn't offered a romantic proposal. It kind of just happened. I was in the army and came to the day room and
met my date. And I was sick with the flu and came bundled
up, plus it was December to begin with. I wasn't up to going
anywhere, and so he and I just sat awhile and talked. He
was talking about how he felt a man should be with a wife and
how he felt a wife should be and I was sitting there wondering
what he was inching toward. We'd only known each other a
week. But I knew he had orders to leave for Okinawa after
Christmas, coming up. And suddenly, he stopped and asked,
"You know what I'm trying to ask you, don't you?" And I said,
"No, what?" And he followed with, "I'm asking you to marry me!" And I just stared at him in disbelief. But I found myself
saying, "yes" after I let it sink in better.
I was proposed to two other times earlier. But they weren't
the formal proposals either. The first was kind of an agreed
upon thing and we went looking for rings soon after. And
things didn't work out and we stopped seeing each other since there was too much pressure from our parents not to
marry the other. I was too young anyway for marriage. Then
a year later I had another proposal which was closer to the
more traditional 'asking'. And yet it was asked rather shyly.
And I didn't hesitate to say, "yes". But he and I didn't continue
due to something underhanded he did. And I had scruples.
And told him I didn't want to see him again. And not long after
I joined the service to 'see the world'.
I don't know about the most romantic way to propose. But
when you're young and underage, you don't go out drinking.
So you can't do the candlelight dinner thing. But I think that
would be a romantic way to approach the subject at hand.
In a very nice restaurant with an honest to goodness waiter.
I think over a glass of an after dinner cordial or something
equivelent, if the man wants to propose. He should take her
hand, and hold it warmly or maybe after a light kiss if they're
sitting in a booth. And then tell her that he wants her to spend
the rest of her life with him, because he can't live without her
because he loves her too much to be away from her. Some-
thing like that, that would be heartfelt and his eyes would have to reflect his emotion. That would make me melt as a
woman. I was only 18 when I married and that was 45 years
ago.

Wick... how silly... no proposals here in the senior room yet that I have seen! I'm sure I would remember that!
My husband just looked into my baby green eyes and said I was so full of s**t no one else would want me so I'd better go ahead and marry him! Cool huh? Well, he was right so I said yes of course! He gave me a nice little kiss and a big diamond ring and there ya go... he is a love!
My best to you and your wonderful little son...
Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays which ever suits U!

The most romantic way was the way my husband proposed when we had broken up 7 months prior. He came to my apartment and suprised to see him (He said he was a man that "never looks back or goes back") I asked him "What was he doing here since he Never goes back"?, he replied , "I'm not here to come back, I"m here to ask you to marry me" I did. I was a hopeless romantic. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. (smile) Unfortunately, He passed away almost a year and a half ago at 47. But I still remember the day like yesterday.

I think they, as well as I, don't get the meaning of your second line....What is Seniors Rm? Room?? what is Seniors and what is Juniors? I don't get it...sorry.. really...could you please explain...thank you
EDIT:
I like the scene in a movie I saw, that the man proposed at the garden of the parents' house..after strolling under the moon..he plucked a red rose (but in your case, any flower at the garden will do) because it is so sensational...it has symbolic meaning
CAUTION: Do not do in your exgirlfriend garden..if you know which scene I am refering to..haha..when she was supposed to be the queen of his heart...lalalalala

He came over one evening. It was Valentines day! He had sent me 2 dozen roses earlier in the afternoon! He came over and he was wearing these ugly polyester high water pants. He had the pants hiked up way above his waist. He had on a button down cardigan that was all stretched out and was low in the front and high in the back !!!!! He got down on his knees and pulled a little box out of his ugly sweater pocket and opened it to a beautiful engagement ring and asked me in his best Erkel voice (We didn't know Erkel then. He probably wasn't even born yet anyway) Will you marry me? I was laughing so hard I could only shake my head yes !!!!!!!!!!!! He never wore those clothes again!!!!!!

There's nothing romantic about suicidal tendencies or voluntary actions in that direction. Simply gave the wife 'the rock' for Christmas and asked if she wanted to get married. (We'd been dating/engaged for about 5 years -- so much for breathtaking, whirlwind, romance -- 'course we are still married).

Current hubby kept asking me to marry him in our second month of dating. I kept saying no, he kept saying why. I kept saying it was too soon. He kept asking when. I kept saying in a year. He kept saying why wait at our age. We were married 4 months after meeting.
