because he's not being pimped by gary bettman. people only like the grotesquely overrated players. But hey i guess Ovie will be just like Bonzai, hockey's best kept secret.

Andrew, I got the solution for you. Let him come to Toronto in the summer. He'll get plenty of recognition next year.
Second for goals, but like Bob said 9th for points, but that's probably more due to the fact he has nobody to pass to that can put the puck in the net in Washington. I like him, I think he'd be awesome if he had some help over there. Or better yet, over here. We can trade Belak for him, see him score tonight? That gives him a total since 2003 of 1 goal.

Last I checked he was 9th in points. Besides, he plays LW doesn't he? So does Kovalchuk, who has more goals, assists, points, game winning goals...............

Take off the rose colored glasses and you will see that Kovalchuk is the having a better season for Eastern LW's, for that matter, Stillman of all people can be argued for over Ovechkin-he has better stats in everything but goals.

Fan votes are what they are. Just be happy he plays for you the team you like.

It's about big market teams. people who play in huge markets will bet more votes. look at who's leading in defense from the east... and goalie for that matter.

Fan ballots are a joke- perhaps it would be better if it was one person one vote though...

They see it, they didn't vote for him.

I vote several times a day, and I've yet to vote for Ovechkin, nor do I see myself doing it anytime soon.

Note: I have voted for Kolzig several times!

We see it. We just don't like cocky puck hogs.

Wow, I get thumbs down for saying what everyone knows is the absolute truth.
