well my first was an induction at 40weeks so I spent the days beforehand a nervous wreck wondering how it was all going to happen. Oh and I nested a lot in the babies room making sure everything was just so! My daughter was born after a grueling 8 hour labour with 2nd degree tearing and pethedine. She was 9pd and it hurt!!!
With my second I went spontaneously at 40wks 2days. I had a great nights sleep, jumped on my hubby in the morning (if you know what I mean!!!) and then when I got up I lost my mucus plug. that was about 7.30am.
I spent the morning grocery shopping and paying my husbands employees and then went home and did housework/nesting!! So basically I kept active! I am sure that being active and the sex is what started my contractions properly later that day (about 9pm) even though I had noticed some strange contractions coming and going throughout the day. I spent the night walking our hallway and packing last minure thins and waited at home till 1.30am when the pain got bad and the contractions were 3-4 mins apart. I arrived at hospital at 2am and was 5cm dilated. My son was born 5 hours later at 7.07am easily and naturally without tearing or epidural. I went home the next afternoon.
I am convinced that an active labour without being hooked up to drips and machines means you have a better chance at a normal and easier delivery. The more intervention the harder it is likely to be. It certainly was the case for my two labours.
I am now pregnant again and intend on being as active as I can even if I end up with an induction. I would rather go 2 weeks over due and not have to be hooked up to the drip then go through the pain of my first labour all over again.

Well with my daughter I had just layed down to go to sleep and pop went my water! The funny thing about that is.. My husband and I had a newspaper route so we were always rolling in at 6am! with the baby coming soon we found replacements and this night would be our 1st night in along time that we got to sleep thru the night instead of the day! but my daughter wouldn't have that she decided to start labor our 1st night of sleep in a long time! Then after she was born we didn't get a good nights sleep in a long time lol

When I went into labor my contraction were 23 minutes apart so I started building my crib, my sister called my mom who was a nurse at about 3pm and told her what was going on. After midnight my mom showed up raising cane about me not have taken to the hospital, but I was not in any real pain and the contractions were still more than 10 minutes apart. She took me to the hospital, the head nurse tried to send me home, my mom told her that she had delivered babies at Shands teaching hospital (University of Florida) and didn't need her help but we were not leaving and we were going to use their facility. The nurse called my doctor, she rushed down. Then started complaining to me, about upsetting my mother. Then my doctor and mom delivered my son by themselves, laughing and joking the whole time. But the second delivery was hard, I feel to my knees with the first contraction.

I was standing in my kitchen talking to my husband. He said something silly, and I laughed. I felt a little trickle and thought I had peed myself, lol! I changed my panties and went to lay on the couch to watch Numb3rs, and I felt a faster trickle and a "pumping" sensation. Called OB, they told me to wait until I had regular contractions. Finally got to sleep around midnight, up at 2 am with cramping. Hospital @ 3 am, 7 am they induced me because I wasn't dilating enough (only at 2 cms) and my water had broken 9 hours before. Got my epidural @ 9 am, slept for 30 minutes. 10:30 am, I yelled for the doctor because it was time to push, but they didn't believe me since 20 minutes before that I had only been at 4 cms! She checked, I was at 8, so she just gave me an extra swipe and got me to 10. I pushed for 20 minutes, and delivered a beautiful baby girl!

I was induced cause I had fibriods that were getting in the way of the baby, and her cord was wrapped around her neck...
So before I went in, I got a starbucks coffee and muffin (BAD idea) and dropped off my movies at Blockbuster and had a baby 22 hours later!

I was induced, so I was lying in the hospital bed when they put the I.V. in to start labor. Kind of boring, I'm hoping with this pregnancy it will happen on it's own, then I'll have a good story!

I was asleep. Woke up cramping like during a period. It was actually the morning I was supposed to be induced! Glad that my son got to choose his own birthday.
My water never broke or anything like that. Just a bad cramp that gets worse and worse and worse! Very painful. Thank God for epidurals!!!

Well, I was watching American Idol in the hospital bed. they knew my son was on his way soon. I started having outrageous contractions and begged for my epidural. But the anest. was in surgery and I had to wait. But he never showed. So I gave birth to my son at 11:25pm...
