no at this point its not, as long as the baby doesnt wieght to much cuz the whole danger is that the baby will lay on vital blood vesals that you and the baby need but at 15 weeks you should be fine but if you start to feel lite headed or the baby starts acting funny rol over on you side

15 weeks is still quite small but the danger is more as the baby grows and the weight downward as you lay on your back can constrict blood flow. Left side is best. I usually sleep initially on my right side and then switch to my back so during pregnancy it was a difficult habit to break. I use to wake up feeling like I couldn't move or breathe if I happened to be completely on my back. Best option is to prop a pillow behind your back to keep you from rolling on your back.

My doc told me today that until you're about 20 weeks along, you can lay in ANY position, and the baby will be safe! After that, the left side is best.

I have been told that you shouldn't lay them on their backs when I had my first child, but when I had my second I was told not to lay her o her stomach, they have medical reasons for both. So I started laying them on their sides using rolled up receiving blankets or those triangle shaped things that are sold in most baby departments. This will prevent suffocation as well as choking. Good Luck

No it more of a third trimester problem. Unless your child is very large for its size but very doubtful. No matter what you still want to try and lay on your left side for maximum blood and circulation to the baby. With my first daughter I always worried I would have problems because I woke up on my back (or stomach) every day. My doctor told me to just try my best to stay on the sides but it was not crucial especially in the 2nd trimester!.

it is said to cause reduced flow through one of your major blood vessels but as I have asked this same question to many a doctor, their unanimous answer was if you are comfortable laying like that and bubs is fine, then do it.

don't however lay on your stomach if you can avoid it. Supposedly laying on your left side is the only way to go when pregnant but thats rubbish too. Lay anyway you feel comfy except on your stomach.

Best of luck

The most important information a parent can remember is that SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) occurs far less when babies sleep on their backs. You are sure to encounter advice from well-meaning people that tell you "my kids slept on their stomachs and were fine." Ignore this advice. Much research has been conducted, and the consensus is that infants are at far less risk when placed on their backs to sleep.
is also a decreased risk of choking when a baby sleeps on her back. There are special circumstances that dictate a baby sleep on her stomach, but if this applies to your child, your doctor will tell you.
However, when baby is awake, feel free to place her on her tummy from time to time, to allow for proper development of head and neck muscles.

The Canadian Pediatric Society also notes that once baby can roll onto her tummy by herself, it is not necessary to force her to sleep on her back.

Regardless of the sleeping position, however, there are some important facts to remember. Never use soft mattresses, fluffy pillows, comforters, or stuffed toys in the baby's crib. The use of these things could prevent air circulation around your baby's face. If you have any questions regarding the best sleep position for your baby, ask your doctor.

You're not supposed to lay on your back after the 16th week of pregnancy. You can cut off the blood supply carrying oxygen to the fetus. Yeah, I thought this was crazy too...but my doctor confirmed.

Your baby is surrounded by a cushioning sac of amniotic fluid. I doubt that laying on your back would hurt him/her. As long as you're not uncomfortable, I think it's probably fine.
