the movie, is it controversial? Are you going to see the movie still?
Personally for me I do not understand why people are making a big deal about this or anything that is dealing with religion. If you are a commited in whatever you believe in why are you afraid of a movie? Are you that unstable that you think a movie or something will shatter your faith? I think this is really funny when people say the movie will turn people atheist or turn them against god LOL LOL....
How weak do you have to be?

""Certain Islams thought it insulted their prophet and offended their faith and it""
Also i dont get people who follow religion and they begin to interpret it in a way which they say people must die.
Which god cares if you offend them/him/her/she/it or not? Are they not God?
Humans are hypocritical

People who are trying to indoctrinate their children in a particular belief (or lack of belief) often try to "protect" them from any discordant messages. The Dark Materials books that this movie is based on were probably more anti-theocracy than anti-religion. That's supposedly been toned down considerably for the movie, so the protests about the movie may be about nothing. But I have heard people say they're afraid the movie will make kids want to read the book. My personal opinion is that shielding kids from ideas is a bad thing, and often has an effect opposite what's intended as it adds an aura of mystery and excitement to the "forbidden" ideas.

A British teacher in the Sudan barely escaped execution because she allowed her students to name a teddy bear Mohammed. She was just released from jail. Certain Islams thought it insulted their prophet and offended their faith and it became a highly sensitive and very dangerous international incident.
It is not extreme for parents to say 'no' to a movie that they think may offend their faith.

I don't think adults are afraid of being turned against their faith. What they are concerned about is kids going to see a movie that they think is just an innocent kids' movie and start getting messages about atheism.
I probably will not go to see the movie, it doesn't appeal to me at all.

it only takes simple things in life to slowly take away what you believe.... i mean just a little wrong, can get you addictited to it... just look at Hitlar he took away the government a little at a time.... you just have to watch out for what you stick in your head....
i don't think if you watch this movie you will turn athiest, but, as a Christan, i'm not going to go support the author of this book and now movie....

some people feel strongly over this issue.and they'll do what they feel is the right thing for them.
and,no,i won't see the movie.movies cost too much nowadays,anyway.
and it has nothing to do with weakness.if anything,it's a sign of strength,to resist something you feel in your heart is morally corrupt.

It's not about weakness. I will not see this movie, nor my family and friends, because we do not want to support this "let's destroy God" system. We do not want our money to go to that.
