to be a professional typer?
i am learning typing now
i just wondering how many words should i aim to get in order to get a job as a data entry

it depends on who is hiring you, but if my memory serves me right, all the jobs I applied for they wanted about 60-70. when I was in high school I could do about 80!!! and that was on manual typewriter.. no keyboard..

I did data entry for many years. You need to do at least 45 to get hired entry level, and to make the big bucks (piecerate, keystroke rate, etc.) you will need to do around 85-90. You can make great money doing data entry but it will destroy your wrists (carpal tunnel syndrome) after so long, even using ergonomically correct keyboards, chairs, etc., so it is not worth it really. My mom is a data entry and she types over 100 a minutes, but to start out, or get the job period, I would try getting 70wpm.

data entry is like 45-50 depending on the job.
i was a medical transcriptionist for seven years and i typed about 120/wpm. whew! It was a great job though, and you make MEGA bucks!!

You need to have at least 60 wpm, is what I was taught in school.
but it's not hard to get 60, I'm about 60wpm. but then again, I've took classes on how to type for 4 yrs. in highschool.
