I fought my laundry for months, clothes were drying slower & slower, getting smellier & smellier. Turned out the repair people last summer had "helped" by installing a grate/trap on the outside vent. It was clogged with an inch of cat fur, and I didn't know it existed. I only knew about the lint filter you pull out and clean.
Turn your dryer on, then go outside & find the exterior exhaust vent. If there's plenty of air coming thru it, your problem is not a clog in the air line. But if that's what it is, it's simple and free to correct! Good luck.

Get the ducts cleaned to make sure that lint in the duct is not interfering with the effectiveness of your dryer. Make sure the dryer is properly vented. If your house is very humid, your dryer may not be able to overcome the humidity, so you might need to open a window or something while you are drying. Call a dryer service/repair person to come look at the dryer.

i have had this happen, if you try splitting the wash load so there isn't as much moisture in there the heat will get though better. Also something can be covering the outside vent keeping the moisture in there. also the lint trap might be clogged, i mean you cant see it, you can get a kit that can clean out the lint out the hose and a stick that can go into the lint catcher and pull the lint out or a vacuum attachment that vacuums it out. This can be available at like a wallgreens or go to Google and look up dryer cleaning kits! Hope this will help you out!

Sounds like a Bad Heating element if you have cleaned your lint screen and the hose from the dryer to the wall is clear and its still not drying properly.

Possible problems:
1) Vent is blocked - check to see if there is water in the vent hose behind the unit and check the entire line to see if it is going outside. Check to see if the outside vent-cap is open and working.

2) An electric heating element is broken. You must take the panel off the back to check this but let someone with experience do this as you can electrocute yourself!

Best of luck to you!
Good night and Good Luck!

Need more info.

Is it gas or electric?

Does the drum spin when you turn it on (just no heat)?

Have you checked/cleared the exhaust duct?

Is the outside duct vent flap opening?

Is air coming out of the vent (hot or cold)?
