Because....people are entitled to live where they please....economics may play a part in it. I think you are forgetting that it is only a game after all and using it as a means of determining where someone should live is stupid.
I lived in Ypsilanti, 3 miles from UofM campus in Ann Arbor and my roommate and childhood friend was a huge Ohio State fan. It was actually more fun because of the arguments and the constant chiding each other.

I was born in Massachusetts but I am an Atlanta Falcons fan. Yea we're not doing so good and to be Frank I despise the Patriots and the Red Sox. But dont say I hate the home team just to spite everyone. I like the New England Revolution and Boston College. Its just that for me growing up hearing about the daily happenings of the Patriots and Red Sox got old real fast. Why do I care about what Teddy Bruschi or Tom Brady ate for dinner? That kind of thing should not be a primetime news story. I hate it and I'm sorry but the media saturation of the two teams drove me to despise them almost as much as I hate Peyton Manning.
There are other good reasons for moving to a place where your home team is not the favorite such as a better job a better house ect. Which is nothing to worry about. And because you don't want non-local fans in your area does that mean you want all the fans of your local team to move to your area? That would be obnoxious everyone needs a good argument or healthy competition.

I am now, and always have been a Patriots fan, since 1972.... that did not change, when I moved to Florida, to attend school. It did not change when I was transferred to London for work, nor did it change when I lived in Texas..... I am not now, nor have I ever been a fan of another NFL team... and I certainly am not Stupid.. that would be someone who jumps the bandwagon, every time they move...

Stupid or Loyal? I was born in Columbus Ohio and I live far from buckeye territory, but my loyalty is with them. ( I go back for games, including the spring practice game, along with 65,000 + others) I would say that they are loyal and brave- people who stand on their principles and don't back down to whatever is popular. If they annoy you- so what? Who are you to dictate?

Sorry, where I grew up there are NO professional sports teams. I have to root for someone.
Besides, someone has to make sure that Texas sports fans don't take over the world!

well i have 3 reasons. maybee they grew up liking them. Their parents may like the rival team and alot of kids take after their parents. Finally, they just want attention(even if it is the bad kind)

It's not necessarily stupid unles you live in Oakland, just might make you unpopular.
I like that some people don't like my team - one of my favorite things about Football is the **** talking!
