There is no catch. BUT, the warranty does not cover wear and tear. Meaning that they will not replace it at, say 90 thousand miles simply because it failed. If it failed due to regular use and wear and tear, you pay for it. If it failed because of a manufacturer defect, they pay for it.
So, in effect, the warranty only covers manufacturers defects, they are NOT promising you that they will fix it no matter what.
To clarify, warranties cover manufacturer defects, they do not promise that, no matter what, the equipment will not fail. I really wonder where all those negative votes came from. They should probably do some more research.

That's the point. You wouldn't normally even consider buying a Chrysler, and that's a shame. Chrysler builds awesome stuff. My mom has a '97 Town & Country with 152,000 miles on it, and still drives like new. I'm seriously amazed at how it hasn't even started to fall apart after 10 years. I'm even more amazed that the 3.8 v6 gets a solid 32 mpg on the freeway, compared to my '89 Taurus with a 3.8 that gets about 28 in overdrive. It's easy for me to see why they sell more minivans than any other maker year after year. A friend of mine had an '07 300 rental car, and I was astonished by how smooth and comfortable it was. The v6 engine never struggled and was barely noticeable. I could really understand why it was one of Car&Driver magazine's 10 best cars. And the 300C's have cylinder deactivation. You shouldn't overlook them.

There is no catch and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Is it a marketing ploy? No!!! It is a lifetime power train warranty and covers things in the engine, transmission and rear end. It is the best warranty in the business. I am not affiliated with Chrysler in any way other that owning 3 of their cars. They make a great product and stand behind it.
My Crossfire is a wonderful car and a product that really isn't a Chrysler, but don't tell anyone. It's really an SLK, shhhhhhh!

The lifetime powertrain warranty is for real, but it is only to the original owner. If you sell or trade your Chrysler, the warranty does not transfer, but the 3 year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty does transfer. On the other hand, General Motors 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty automatically transfers to the new owner.

No catch and yes, does cover wear out of major parts.
Yes, you must have it inspected every FIVE years..big deal. Yes, you must have proof of maintenance, but would you actually expect different from ANY THING or ANYBODY? Just try to get warranty from that Japanese junk with no oil change, filter change, or any records of maintenance.
I own three Jeeps,,but before this waranty..They are trying to prove what people who want to stab American in the back do not want to believe that we can make good reliable cars, but they are putting their money where their mouth is.
FYI. My 1990 Jeep Cherokee has a life time warranty on the ABS..No tricks..NONE.
PS Drove a 1983 K-Car 250,000 miles on original power train and sold it..Lost track of it after two years..Yes, to a friend.

You have to have proof of every oil change etc... to have the limited lifetime warranty. You don't have to have it done at a Chrysler facility, just a shop that will give you an invoice with the date and milage on it.

before every 5th anniversary or every100,000 miles you have to take the CVhrysler Dodge or Jeep product to a dealer to "be inspected" at no charge. the warranty covers engine and transmission for life. Since those are covered you can upgrade to bumber to bumber for life. No other car covers anything for life or the availability of upgrading

Hey my 95 Ram had 400 000km's
98 Durango 300 000km's so far
02 Ram is at 200 000km's
Any vehicle will break down without maintanance.
The extended warranties are really another cash grab to make you feel 'comfortable' and that you are covered.
When you need it, and someting goes arai, you'll get the picture.

Everything is covered until something goes wrong, then the dealership will blame the customer for the problem and try to work around the warranty so the customer has to pay.
Its just a sales idea for them to try and get more sales, due to everyone switching to Toyota.
