Awe all these loyal fans. Just get what has the games you want , plain and simple.

Otherwise Online fun on both systems, except the ps3 network doesn't have as many foul mouthed 11 year olds trying to talk "tough" like the 360 does especially halo3 ..Sometimes it almost feels like babysitting..

360 has a parent timer now so it shuts itself down uf the kid goes over...well with 360 load times including the time it takes just to get into an online game you get what 15 minutes to play. Wow that's fun

360 is fun but unreliable, Parents don't need to ground their children from it because the 360 is always at microsoft for red ring of death repairs.

Ps3 has better specs and is more reliable. Ps3 Exclusives are huge on 50gig blueray ...360 well 8gig dvds enough said. .

anybody who says the ps3 is better hasnt played da 360. there is a hardly noticable difference in graphics, but the 360 has much much better games, more accessories, detachable hard drive, and if you got the ps3, you would be the only one out of all of your friends that has one cuz all of your friends are on 360. (and ps3 doesnt have halo 3)

In my opinion, an Xbox 360 would be the better one. The PS3 is pretty much the same thing as the PS2, as the only new thing is better graphics. Whereas the 360 has not only great graphics, but with incredible games such as Halo 3, Bioshock, The Orange Box, and so on.

Xbox 360 has only First Person Shooters.. THAT'S ALL THEIR GOOD FOR.

I like the Ps3 for a couple of reasons:
Sony actually listens to their consumers..When the Ps3 came out we grumbled it had no Rumble. Now in spring 2008 DUALSHOCK 3, is coming with Rumble and Sixaxis.

Does Microsoft listen to customers? No... Since their Xbox 360 failures 5% of the time (1 out of 20) all they did was extend the warranty to three years...WOW...

Everyone I know is on their second Xbox 360 cause the first one broke.

Xbox 360 hardware woes
Microsoft really hit it out of the park when it came to the Xbox 360's software—consider the slick Dashboard, the persistent Achievements and Gamertags, and the top-notch Xbox Video Marketplace. But the actuall 360 hardware is a disaster: chronically glitchy, prone to overheating, and all too susceptible to the "Red Ring of Death," which signals a critical hardware failure. Indeed, I'm already on my second Xbox 360 in barely a year, and just about every 360 owner I know has had to send their console back to Redmond for repair. In June, Microsoft finally did the right thing and owned up to the shoddy state of its hardware, extending the Xbox 360's warranty to a full three years and taking a $1 billion charge in the process.

Thats hilarious now lets get down to the comparison.

People don't understand..prices JUST THINK
I'm going buy their highest price models..
Playstation 3 is $599 for an 80gig...OK EXPENSIVE WE KNOW
Xbox 360 is $449 for a Elite...

By the year 2009, excluding games, and including Internet fees you would have paid..$600 dollars for your Xbox 360 to use all it features...

To me it's the same price, you can see it anyway you want but it is.

Ah there is a lot of good and bad between both of them. If you are a movie lover and do not want to dish out $200-400 on a HD DVD Player which you will probably need by 2009, then Ps3 is the way to go because the DVD player that's built in it is incredible and next gen. If games are what you want and you want to play online constantly and compete with others all over the world, I would say the Ps3 because it's 100% free online and Xbox 360 is $50 a year for online so you're pretty much paying the difference between the price in about 3 years.

All right lets get down to opinions. When it comes down to technology, I leave it the Asians and not Americans. Windows Vista is a disaster and proves Microsoft makes a lot of mistakes.

Both consoles are buggy because they were rush to the shelves but Xbox 360 failure rate is higher than Ps3. Xbox 360 currently has this thing called 'red ring of death' which means your gaming system is finished unless you send it to Microsoft and they fix it.

If you send it to Microsoft, you have to wait about a month and half to get it back and it could get stolen in the mail. A lot of people aren't trusthworthy.

One good thing I can say about Microsoft is that they are very good at persuading. They pay companies a lot of money to keep games exclusive to their system, games like Gears of War, Bioshock, and Halo. These games make people buy their system but in the long run Sony has good credibility.

Xbox 360 is up in sales but Sony has always been reliable in the years to come. The games and equipment they will dish out in unmatched and Xbox 360 cannot compete.

I can name great upcoming games exclusive for the Ps3 and I can name great games exclusive for the Xbox.

Is the Ps3 worth the money...YES..it is it's worth every penny and its now $400 dollars for a 40 gigabyte version, better than it was a year ago. Although Xbox 360 is cheap in 3 years you will pay more than you did for the Ps3 minus the games.

The new 40gig version is less buggy than the 360 and probably won't have any problems.

When Playstation 2 came out I remember sitting around months on end waiting for a good games then Sony came rushing to shelves with great stuff.

Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3
God of War
Gradius
Manhunt
Devil May Cry series
Grand Theft Auto series

Everytime I finished a game another one came out..

It always been like this, Developers had 2 years to dish out stuff for Xbox 360 and learn it's components. Of course Xbox 360 is going to be everyone favorite now.

But don't count Sony out...they've always pulled the rabbit out the hat. By December of 2008, Ps3 will conquer all once more.

People forgot that Xbox 360 had a FULL YEAR but the Ps3 is still right behind them. A full year so of course Xbox 360 games will be better, of course there is more people online, and of course people will discredit the Ps3.

Sony has never failed when it comes to games. When the Playstation came out (Sony's first system), it blew Nintendo and Dreamcast sales out the water. It took Xbox 2 systems to catch up and get it right and they still haven't.

The Xbox 360 have a 5% failure rate.. That is 1 out of 20. If condoms had a %5 failure rate, the U.S. population would surpass China.

People say Xbox 360 has a mix array of games but their best games top 3 is a First Person Shooter..Thats not a mix array people..

If you're going buy the system on the base of games.. pick up a GameInformer magazine from a Supermarket or game store and just see what games you like. Good luck.

Obviously the choice ends up being yours but there are a couple of things to know before making the decision.
First thing you should know is that the 360 compared to the PS3 IS NOT cheaper, in the long run, I'll break down the costs in a second.
The second thing you should know is that the 360 has a very high failure rate, over 30% of all xbox 360s end up being shipped to Micorsoft for repairs. Sure they give you a 3 year warranty, but that's because you're going to have to use it. PS3s failure rate is well under 1% at about .02%.
PS3 is going to have exclusives like Metal Gear Solid, Socom, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Awesome game!!!!), Ratchet & Clank, Killzone 2, and many others.
The 360 has the largest currently available library of games, with exclusives like Halo, Bioshock, Mass Affect, and a few others.
PS3 plays blu-ray and games are on blu-ray discs, you may think this doesn't mean much, and current development states that it may not mean much now, but will very soon, in fact one developer recently stated that there was no way to get the game they were working on over to the 360 because of the size of textures and sounds in the game. 360 uses standard DVD discs, 9GB of data available for developers, blu-ray is over 50GB of data space available.

Now for the cost comparison, 360 Pro/Premium console (20GB HDD) $349.99, hi-def gaming, dvd player, large library of games, +$99.99 wi-fi adapter, +$50/yr Xbox Live Gold (required for online play), brings the total for the system alone with what is needed to play online to: $499.98, other options are, +$59.99 wireless headset (if you want wireless, wired comes with the system), +$179.99 HD-DVD player (Xbox 360 games are not available on HD-DVD).
PS3 (80GB HDD): $499.99, wi-fi included, blu-ray player included, hi-def gaming, PSN included/No Charge (required for online play), $24.99 bluetooth headset (if you don't have one for your cell phone, and want wireless). This is also backward compatible (software emulation) with PS2 titles, as well PS1 titles.

PS3 allows you to load a Linux operating system, and use the machine as a computer as well.
