The Kwakiutl are very interesting. A pre Alaskan tribe studied in detail by Franz Boas, and nicely summarized in the book (Patterns of Culture) by Ruth Benedict. This Tribe is well described in one of the sections of the book. They did human sacrifices, and pot latches, where they tried to out do their competitors as to who had the most wealth. They also had beautiful art work and masks.

Wow. Their are so many. I can tell you about the one I am from, It is called the Hoopa tribe. Hoopa is located in northern california. It is super duper small, only has one gas station and one grocery store. When I was little their wasn't much to do except go to the river or creek, the summers are super hot. Hoopa has been fighting the Yurok tribe for years now trying to claim land that is ours this is an ongoing battle and has been fought in court since before I was born (1980)
I get what's called Per Capita payments about every other month for being native american and have options for free health care. The funds come from our gaming casino which has been their not even 10yrs. so before that I'm not sure where the money came from.

Hmm, I wonder if they know that cheyenne is dog in French? The French men called those Tsitistas Cheyene because they used camp dogs as a food source at times. Like when granny would kill a chicken when unexpected company came. I would never name any of my kids dog, no matter how "pretty" the word sounded.
