How can I add words to the dictionary so that they aren't always picked out by the spell checker?

I know there must be away to add words, like my last name, for instance, or medical terms the spell checker doesn't recognize. I mean, really, every time I use "LOL" the spell checker stops on that too! It happens on these boards as well as when I compose an email.

IS there even a way to add words? Maybe I'm asking too much.

I am talking about Yahoo email and Answers. What a waste of time if you have to click "ignore" over your name every time! Bah-humbug. LOL!

Do you mean in a program like Microsoft Word? or here on Answers...

On Answers, there is NO way to add words to the Dictionary :(:(:(

If you have a Mac, control+click the word underlined, then click "add to dictionary." same with PC, but right-click instead.

right click on the word that has a squiggly underneath it, then click "add to dictionary"
