In my spare time I am a beta tester for antispyware and antivirus program from all over the world.

With Nortons, you have one hell of a mess. With Add/Remove, you only think that you have removed Nortons from your system. Nortons leaves behind over 375 fragments glued to your registry, files and folders. You will play hell trying to remove the fragments. Yes they do cause serious conflict with your system. (If you email I will direct you to a free software program that will delete all write protected files. Plus indepth instructions on how to use the program.

You can go to start, run and type in: c://program files, click on browse, look for program files and click on program files and look for, Nortons or Systamenic, (don't know how that word is spelled). Try and delete the file. If it is write protected it will not delete and you will need special software to delete.

Then reboot your system, go back to run again type in c://program files and see if the files will delete.

Now go to start and search, type in, Nortons and let your pc scan for Nortons. Try and delete all files related to Nortons from the top to the bottom. Then go back again and type in systemenic or how ever it is spelled and let your pc search. Delete all files related.

If all fails email me and I will help you with free software and indepth instructions on how to get Nortons out of your system.

I could give you info. on how to remove from the registry. I prefer not to because Nortons is a real mess, with files glued to your registry and you may really mess up your pc, by removing the wrong registry keys. And I don't wish for that to happen to you.

Try reinstalling Norton Internet Security again, right over the top of the existing install, then run the uninstaller again.

Hi,
Try disabling your antivirus and then run the Add/Remove program.
Good luck!
