PEMDAS:
Parentheses first
Exponents next
Multiplication comes later
etc.

3(2)²

= 3 x 4
= 12

If you want the answer to be 36 you would have to write it as:
(3x2)² not 3(2)²

Remember the golden rule of equations:PEMDAS.Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (left to right), and Addition and Subtraction (left to right). Here x=3(2)^2. There is no Parenthesis (Those parenthesis mean multiplication), so we goto the Exponents. 2^2=4. So now, the equation is x=3(4). Multiply 3(4). x=12. The answer is 12.

It is equal to 12

When you evaluate it, you must first evaluate the indice term. So you would FIRST say, ok, 2^2 = 4, and then i need to multiply it by 3 to get 12.

You CANNOT first multiply the 3 and 2 to get 6, and then square the six.

it is 12 first you do the 2^2 which is 4 then multiple by 3 =12

if the equation was (3*2)^2 then the answer would be 36

Algebraic operations tell you to start with the exponents, then multiplication and division from left to right, finally, the addition and subtraction from left to right.

If you have anything in parenthesis, you use the the above rules inside the parens first, then work your way out to the rest of the problem.

3(2)^2 = 3(4) = 12

3 ( 2) ^2 Remember PEMDAS P= parentheses, E = exponents, M= multiplication. D= division . A = addition S= subtraction. so you will solve that first and you get 3(4) = 12

it is equal to 12

you square the 2 first and then multiply by 3

you do the power before you multiply. 3* 4 = 12

or you could read 3(2)^2 as 3(2)(2) = 12
