What was it exactly that made it the turning point of the Revolutionary War?

I have never heard it was a turning point. I did solidify the southern colonies support of the revolution. Until the battle of King's Mountain, the Southern colonies were largely on the fence.
Plus we did thwart a major offensive in an area we weren't prepared for.

i think it was either the last war in the revolutionary war,or beause no one knows who shot the first shot???igot no funken idear,but i remember doing this in class today o.o'
