Land of the free- meaning we have many freedoms. This was written by Francis Scott Key during the bombardment of Ft. Mchenry during the battle of 1812. We had already signed the Declaration and had these freedoms, no longer oppressed by Great Britain. Home of the Brave- as he watched the Americans being bombarded, he thought of how the military was taking it and how hard they fought for our Indpendence during the Revolution. Our freedoms came because of the brave men who fought but also those who signed the Declaration who could have been hung fro treason against the King.

I reminisce on a time when that was true, and hope it's true again very soon.

We have more people imprisoned than any other country. One in 138 Americans are in jail. (But in some countries the pre-trial consists of a bullet to the head!)

Home of the brave?! I wish. We're more like home of the mandatory helmet law.

But I'm staying to try to make it better.
